Performance was good. Able to run Crysis 2 (just nice) in extreme settings, but not battlefield 3.

Below are PC/3DMarks Screen Shoots

THX TruStudio Pro by Creative was really a powerful sounds enchanting software. It turns my Altec Lansing 2.1 into a much better speakers (better and heavier bass).
Furthermore, you really can feels the different of internal speaker with and without the software.

In fact, I was wondering around P150 and P151 too! But i'm out of budget for a better GPU.  Therefore, P151 is my choice then!

Added on June 11, 2012, 8:52 pmOhya, the screen angle... mine was 95% Gamut FHD Premium Glossy Screen

Please judge yourself. I'm not a good commentator

AUD1595 or less then 5kRM I bought. The spec is in my lowyat's signature.

Keyboard
Never really use island-style keyboard, so no comparison was made. It does feels like using mechanical keyboard, feels slight back force after pressing. Feels definitely better then mushroom-cap keyboard (old tradition)

Fans noise
No significant noise for me(I dont know your definition of noise). But when playing games, can hear fans spinning noise significantly generated from right hand side. But it can easily cover up when I shoot some1 in COD:MW3.

Temperature
GPU hit 85 celcius when playing 45mins of Crysis 2 in Extreme Settings (forgot to print screen evident)

user posted image

GPU hit 54 celcius after 1 hour of carpet booming in COD:MW3 in Ultra Settings

user posted image

But it did a very good job in heat dissipation. It drop back from High Temp to 40+c RAPIDLY right after I shut down the program.

My Sager laptop NP8170 (the predecessor of NP9170) is now more than 1 year old. Received it on 27 April 2011.

Apparently after a year of using it. Both the fans and air vents for the GPU and CPU are clogged with dust.
On idle mode
CPU: 50+ degree celcius
GPU: 55 to 65 degree celcius.
I didn't notice it until I played a guild wars 2 with both CPU and GPU reach more than 90 degree celcius, close to 100 degree celcius.
Guild Wars 2 with maxed graphics
CPU: 90+ degree celcius, close to 100
GPU: 90+ degree celcius, close to 100

I opened up the backcover of my laptop with no trouble. Clean the heatsink which were clogged with dust and also the fans for both CPU and GPU. Re-applied thermal paste and now it is back to normal.
On idle mode
CPU: 40 to 50 degree celcius
GPU: 55 to 65 degree celcius.

Guild Wars 2 with maxed graphics
CPU: 70 to 75 degree celcius
GPU: 80 to 89 degree celcius, maxed 89

The above temperature readings are based on non-air con room temperature.
Again, thumbs up to Sager/Clevo for the easiness to clean the dust and reapply thermal paste on your own without going through the trouble to disassemble the whole thing.

80-85'c in heavy games (crysis, BF3) is quite normal. I play BF3 in GTX460M, reaching constant 81'C in non-aircond room
It will drop to 44-46'C in idle (without games running)
If you want to hear the exact fan noise, press Fn + 1. It'll turn your laptop fan to full blast. biggrin.gif

is it just me or the display color look a bit washed out?

anyway, your laptop is just beside the sink? tongue.gif

gtx670m is using older technology so i guess the temp is quite normal?

Which means, 85 celcius means nothing for my CPU then. Pretty good! biggrin.gif

About that... Fn + 1 for fan booster is now a history. But inactivate the mouse pad instead hmm.gif

Camera Fault!!! tongue.gif

Good question, but you are not the only one asking me that. I'm staying in college, room is small and my working table is attached to the water sink. I been staying here for 4 years long and no accident appeared. So I guess, not a big deal for me then. Plus, it is easy for me to grab a drink too! (Australian tab water is sweet, trust me rclxms.gif )

GTX 670M is Fermi, same as GTX 460. So I guess, its alright. flex.gif

Its a college, only students, academic stuff and researcher stay in college.

I'm looking for mSATA SSD, I called to LBO, n they told me it is situated near to the CPU fan and quite easy to install. Therefore, I no need to sacrifice my DVD ROM! rclxms.gif

Performance RAM? Wont make much different if u already got 1600MHz i guess? noob me giving noob comment tongue.gif

better stick with SSD rather than take performance RAM.
take note that the only component that bottleneck the computer is standard HDD.

U put 32GB Performance ram but still use standard HDD, it won't improve much. smile.gif

You can check the mSATA in xoticpc NP9150 video, starting from 30:52.

I am so much attracted to this NP9150. The backlit keyboard allows me to work in the night with all the lights off. The three USB 3.0 ports (including the one combo with E-SATA) are good enough because the other USB 2.0 port is just for the use of mouse, so no biggy.

The Ivy Bridge (3rd gen i7 processor) and ATI RADEON 7970M are big plus.
Other than that, actually, the optical drive is kinda useless considered how often we use it, replacing it with a 2nd HDD or SSD would be good.
Anyway, the external thin optical drive is only USD 19. The only time we would use a DVD drive is to install windows and drivers or other software. Maybe everything can be done using an external hard drive too.

Agree. No one actually need that much of RAM, unless you are doing something related to super high def picture/video editing or conversion. Or super multitasking (probably play music + FHD video + 100 more tabs in google chrome/firefox + play super exhaustive games at the same time.)

But SSD can really speed up your gaming loading time, windows on and off time, website caching, files transfer and etc(End of Thinking Capacity). Good stuff. rclxms.gif

I would LOVE to take that too! But from NP9130 to NP9150 needs about 150AUD extra with the exact same specs (i7 +670M) and + another 200AUD for the 675M GPU =/

Furthermore, the default screen in NP9150 is just a normal one and NP9130 offer me a 95% gamut glossy screen upgrade without further charge.

U bought it from SAGER?

I just received a call from LogicalBlueOne (LBO, my reseller)

He told me the mechanics just finished running all the test, everything working fine except the RAM. They changes whole new set of RAM modules for me and will send back to me by tomorrow. Will probably get back my laptop by this friday biggrin.gif

hihihehe buy from Logical Blue One Australia, and I believe he lives in AUS too.

@skeith - there's a reason why I didn't bought HDD and RAM directly from the seller. One of the reason; faulty RAM module which I have to send back to the seller for replacement. So, I bought those 2 hardwares at local shop and if got problem, can claim warranty quickly biggrin.gif
