Oh okay then thanks for clarifying..anyway i agree with you though its quite reasonable to buy in Australia buying from the US...
on a side note, the USPS options which is the cheaper shipping cant be use for the time being because of lithium ion battery issue(catch fire)..however they WILL ship the laptop without the battery...and judging by that and according to soundsyst64, if we were to use that option we have to pay tax since it is not a complete laptop(without battery)...sigh=.='' decisions decisions.

Nice find!! I read the thread in notebookreview..looks like not all of the NP8170 laptops support the 7970m well at least all NP8150(i think) are able to support it.

the 7970m(core 850MHZ and mem 1200MHZ) is basically a downclock version of the desktop 7870(core1GHz Mem 1500MHZ) which is a Pitcairn core versus 7970(TAHITI). so yeah it is a huge difference BUT Pitcairn is very energy efficient and that is why the fastest Pitcairn series(7870) becomes the high end AMD GPU solution for gaming laptop. overclock it however, then you basically have a desktop 7870 in a laptop(BEAST)
