Sorry for bringing up the petrol issue again ah. I'm currently using the ESSO RON97. But the service centre ppl are recommending me to switch to Primax 95 extra. What do you guys think? Any noticeable difference in performance when using these two? I'm using Primax 95 for my other ride and it seems smoother and more powerful than the ESSO 95. But what about ESSO97 and Petronas95? Is it an unfair comparison? Part of me wants to follow my service centre's advice and go with Primax95... but part of me is worried about the possible drop in performance. rclxub.gif

so far besides shell95, i haven't got any bad experience with ron95 (yet to pump any ron97 for my gti, haha)...primax95 xtra, caltex, bhp, esso...all tested with satisfying result smile.gif

edited: and yes comparing ron97 to ron95 is not fair at all....if this case u sud compare ron97 between all brand smile.gif

Wah, u went around testing all the brands of 95 ah? OK lah.... I will give Primax95 a try, after I've nearly emptied my current tank of ESSO97. nod.gif Try-try first.

Primax 95 is the best among all 95 after some testing.

But still it does not give the performance and smoothness of the 97.

N/A cars can take 95 quite well but somehow or rather our engines don't really like 95. tongue.gif

My current combo is 95 + 97. Quite satisfactory so far.

k3v u r outdated la....R20 is only used during the development of the Golf R. now it is already launch and the official name is just "Golf R"! haha....if u looking at pure performance, R and TTS is almost the same...TTS looks cooler and have more luxurious features....
*
Really? What's the diff between R20 and Golf R wor? Same engine right? LOL.....

the AWD is diff tho... one is quattro... and the other one is VW AWD... then can put cicak on the car d... haha

if you are stock can use both 95 and 97... 97 getting better performance because you get less timing pull.

Either way, our car ECU management is quite good... wudn't simply throw code. I tested Esso95 using a RON95 map.... my datalog looks good.

Very little timing pull and almost none... Haven't had time to test the rest yet.... but another friend using water meth with ron 97 fuel running RACE mode map that was for RON 106.... had severe timing pull >-4 consistently at RPM above 4000 and still no CEL... Gila fella...

Guys, sorry for the long absence. I'm currently offshore but my bro is driving my car there's no tomorrow. So long story short, mileage is now 28850km. Any one has any ball park figure for the 2nd service?
