bro d3vilism - banana man here  tongue.gif
can help translate 'cos this will impact me directly.  btw, i know navin.  he is the only SC servicing VW, the rest are Volvo SCs.  Looks like they tumpang Federal Auto service center and he is always busy.  but so far so good my experience with him.  but everytime i go thr, it seems like more and more vw cars......wonder how he is going to cope??
*
I think that's the main problem now. Too many cars with too few service facilities. Luckily not that many VW cars in Ipoh, so far. wink.gif They're already expanding the Ipoh showroom n service centre as we speak. thumbup.gif

which one? any pics? smile.gif

banana i think means chinese that cannot speak cantonese/mandarin, if i'm not wrong
*
Being labelled a 'banana' doesn't restrict only to language I think. It is the whole "yellow in the outside, white in the inside" thingy.

woo so fast v3

guys do u know what is the font ppl use for the number plate?
the small and bold 1.. quite common among Mk5 Mk6
*
I see some cars with the alphabets n numbers flush with the plate itself, and they're not stickers. I wonder how much does it cost to custom make one like that. And is it legal? hmm.gif

Don't worry lah. My GTi's FC also very high.... something like yours. But that is because I'm driving it 100% in town leh.... But if I mix in a some highway drive, then can go till 550-600km per full tank.

Just wonder, why the temperature gauge always stay at the miidle and shws reading of 90 degree, while the reading in MFD sometimes is lot higher?
*
Because they are showing different things mah. One is oil temp (MFD), one is coolant temp.

Anyone did an engine wash to ur golf? Is it recommended to do it once in a while.....maybe once in every 6 month or a year?
*
Becareful when u wash your engine area. I've seen a Touareg's engine go bonkers after getting a wash. Seems that water went in somehow.

How much u bought for the RNS dude??

Added on May 21, 2011, 5:57 pm

Owhhh no!! Mine also just 3 weeks.. doh.gif  doh.gif
*
No worries, u got a trouble free GTi. That's what's important. RNS, 18inch rims.... all can be added later. I won't wanna pay extra for the sunroof because that's a feature I'm sure I won't use.
There's one thing I do wish my GTi to have....... and that's cruise control. wink.gif

QUOTE(wira1979 @ May 26 2011, 09:06 PM)
good tip ... thanks

however, it's more of a "chik chik" squeeky sound. maaaan ... my old wira had the same sound and it only disappeared when i replaced the suspension
*
Yeah.. I've got this ages ago. Mine comes from the rear left side suspension. Confirmed it by parking the car, opening the back door, and pressing the car down on the floor board. Can hear 'nyit-nyit' type of squeeking sound. But this only happens occasionally, on a super hot day. It goes away when the car cools down. The technicians told me that some rubber part there expanded due to the temp, thus the rubbing.
Mine got another weird problem. Just experienced it for the first time tonight. While going down a parking ramp, my car's engine just died off after going over a hump. I was going like less than 5kph. Called up the hotline and they told me that there could be something wrong with my fuel pump or something.. asked me to go check it out tomorrow. doh.gif But of course I could easily restart my car after that, and everything is running smoothly now. I am just curious to know why it happened.

Got............ soooooooooo many. But I seldom (almost never) use the paddles. The car's brains seems to be able to judge better/faster than me. rclxms.gif

Sorry for bringing up the petrol issue again ah. I'm currently using the ESSO RON97. But the service centre ppl are recommending me to switch to Primax 95 extra. What do you guys think? Any noticeable difference in performance when using these two? I'm using Primax 95 for my other ride and it seems smoother and more powerful than the ESSO 95. But what about ESSO97 and Petronas95? Is it an unfair comparison? Part of me wants to follow my service centre's advice and go with Primax95... but part of me is worried about the possible drop in performance. rclxub.gif

so far besides shell95, i haven't got any bad experience with ron95 (yet to pump any ron97 for my gti, haha)...primax95 xtra, caltex, bhp, esso...all tested with satisfying result smile.gif

edited: and yes comparing ron97 to ron95 is not fair at all....if this case u sud compare ron97 between all brand smile.gif
*
Wah, u went around testing all the brands of 95 ah? OK lah.... I will give Primax95 a try, after I've nearly emptied my current tank of ESSO97. nod.gif Try-try first.

ooo tat wud b interesting if can b done.... vagcom ?
*
i did bring it up at the service centre... but they said it is impossible to do so. Or maybe they are not allowed to do so... but the technician claimed that it can't be done... and it is best left that way.. because it is some sort of safety feature.

simple procedure...karl can do it as well..just ask him to do it when remapping to APR  tongue.gif

just got back from yumcha....went for long test drive of a frens 335...from Chidas in TTDI..took penchala to MK and back to ttdi...

my only response is.... OMFG....damn thing is so fast...my balls shrink, its just so awesomely fast and comfortable.... I know everyone here is happy with thier VW...but somehow..you guys must go and borrow, beg steal and test a 335i

once you have tried the raw power of a inline 6, twin turbo, 3.0l....no going back.

Just as a comparison..this fren used to have a V-Spec R34 b4 the 335...and even he says the 335 is heads and shoulders above the R34
*
Sure.... the 335i is nice. Didn't know we can get one for under 300k. After hearing your experience, I'd like to sell my GTi and grab a 335i too. But for a person without the knowledge/skill to check on the condition of 2nd hand cars, it seems a little bit risky to me. Anyway, I SERIOUSLY doubt I'll ever get the required 'permit' to change cars so soon. Wife already said that the next car would be a mpv/suv. So, I'm holding on to the GTi..... because it'll be some time before the next fun ride.

Nah... I'm just joking... won't be selling off anything anytime soon. Will ride the GTi for the time being. When my piggy bank is full again, then I'll start looking for a new ride and pass the GTi to my wife..That time, 07 punya 335i will be damn cheap liao. thumbup.gif

kev,

06 TT down to 18xK liao... buy buy buy smile.gif...even 07 Sline can get around 20xk nowadays. But TT is totally impractical as your daily driver, zero bootspace, cannot sit 4 comfortably, if its gonna be your daily driver, the Roc is a better choice or the Megane RS
oh i agree 2 door and 4 door cars can both can be cool...but if u take the exact same car, and put a 2 door vs 4 door comparison...no fight mar

Zack,

wa...ori MX5.....my dream car when i was 17...classmate had one...damn fun man...pity the current version is SO EX!

Brother...... I tell myself that everytime I get on that evil eliptical machine. But it the end, the body tells me otherwise cry.gif . Can't fight reality, old is old liao. But then again, I have more money to splurge on toys than when I was young. Guess that more or less compensates for it. Oh yeah... 2 doors on a sporty ride is damn cool. Good excuse for not fetching lazy friends as well. icon_idea.gif
