Expect poor FC for city driving. Mine's a 2.0 and can easily hit 11-12L/100km in congested areas, and even as high as 13 if most of my journeys are spent stuck in jams. Note that I'm also driving in cold weather where the engine is more strained as the air con will be at full-blast heater mode tongue.gif

thats really good, my 2009 city 1.5 which done 50k km now records 12.5km per litre.

I don't know why you guys always get bad FC on older cars... Which mine still maintain the same FC since day 1....

Always maintain your car at tip top condition will maintain your FC like new..
But, do pour in fuel injection cleaner once every 2000km....

hi guys,

ive check the cables at the engine bay and all seems to be intact. but the lights still flicker.

i do notice one thing that when the aircond is off the flickering is barely noticeable but if on then flickering gets obvious...

... Are you trying to say that the alternator cannot output enough power to supply everything?

My 2.0 can hit up to 13.3L/100KM, 100% city drive. I don't mind as I expect this already. On highway, 6.6L/100KM, and push the speed up to 190KM/H easily. I bet it could hit more than 200KM but every 5 seconds there's a car blocking. Back driving at 110KM.

Anyway, the stability is really nothing to shout about if you ever drive a continental car. It's table, but not as stable as you think. Should stop treating your newly car as if it's made from heaven and worshiping it. It's just a decent normal sedan. And please drive safely.

Anyone installed strut bar, does it make any difference? I'm thinking of getting it fixed but I don't want to mess with its torque. I can't find strut bar torque value (to be used with a torque wrench, right?) anywhere in the manual. I don't want a screwed up load on the mount. Would this void warranty too?

I feel Forte rides like a sampan a little bit. How I wish the MDSP can be tuned to make it a tad more sensitive.

hi there. am considering to buy forte 1.6sx.

i came across this ad on mudah giving a bunch of freebies...

http://www.mudah.my/New+Kia+Forte+1+6+SX+6...t-10594662.htm

but when i visit the showroom (official naza kia), they say no such promotion..

both price the same...

u know, sometimes all this promo can be quite fishy, like urm, 'hidden' ..

my question is, anyone purchased this promo package and hopefully can get some comments.. worthy?

Hi there,

You should call the guy in the mudah link that you posted here. I booked my car from him and he gave me some good deal. Wat he wrote there he will give depending on which kind of package you want, cause he is a dealer so their promotions and freebie are usually much better.

Btw guys Anyone of you here installed VS and Grounding for your forte? Does it void the warranty?

Like you said, don't treat your car as if it's made from heaven tongue.gif

The Forte still has quite a bit of body roll when taking corners quickly, after all it's no low-riding racer and despite its relatively stiff suspension it's still not as hard as other performance-orientated cars. Yes, the Golf GTI rides even harder and that's in normal suspsension mode, not sport mode.

Well, one shouldn't be taking corners at 100kmh anyway sweat.gif

The motor-driven steering is one of the more common complaints around, but to be fair it's still pretty good in terms of feedback. Much better than the my family members' Latio and 207 where both feel like racing wheel for video games. My sister hates driving my Forte 'cause the steering is too heavy for her liking !

Once you get used to the Forte's steering, you'll be fine. One thing to remember though is its tendency to snap really fast back to the centre position... keep a firm grip until you exit the turn otherwise you'll get a sudden, jerking lateral swing as your Forte straightens halfway through.

I thought forte FC is comparable with Vios or City? My fuel tank is at 80% now and I only managed to travel not more than 350km. The meter shows that my forte can still go for another 130km. i seriously think the car can only go not more than 100km. that makes only 400plus km in a full tank at 80%city 20% highway.

i really hope the fc will improve after my 1k service. unsure.gif

I don't own a Forte, but in city drive, basically, most car FC will suffer bad especially larger CCs car with bigger body...and no Forte FC cannot compete with VIOS and CITY....those are 1.5cc car with smaller and lighter car body (and i think those engine delivers better torque at low RPM)...and even in city drive, the FC is not so hot (although will be still better than a Forte).

My Inspira FC almost same as Underhill there....worst 7.xx km/l in city drive to best about 9 km/l. Highway much better, best about 14-15 km/l...(although a recent fuel challenge shows people driving Inspira can reach 900km per tank....at 60km/h - 75 km/h....who drives at this speed on highway??).

Don't worry about FC so much, driving a VIOS or City is very boring...enjoize ur car... biggrin.gif

dun get me wrong, i am enjoying everybit of my forte biggrin.gif. just that the fc keeps me wondering why is it not any better than my previous car wira 1.5 auto (i have changed the manifold for better performance but bad fc).

i guess you are right, forte is indeed heavier. there goes my fuel allowance....heheheh.

westthen : Depends on SC, i installed, but not void...
tancth : Acually is the same, try compare P2 Kelisa auto with ur Wira 1.5 auto...the bigger CC and heavier/bigger body will make FC goes higher in term of city drive, but when in HW, will b opposite...try compare Wira 1.5 auto FC vs. Forte 1.6 FC in HW cruise...

No option but to change the alternator... Sometimes is due to the diode pack...
But after you say you have verify all(which I doubt so, no offence by any means) but cannot find any fault, is better you let the SC to check and verify it... I can say it is already out of your scope to continue more...
Risk of getting warranty void are there..... Don't take that... Must know, you have 5 years warranty, make full use of it...
