Anybody changed the stock 17" rims to 16" rims for better fuel consumption? What rims do you recommend.

QUOTE(shadow111 @ Dec 13 2011, 01:38 PM) still using the default tyre now, if not mistaken is the silverstone 1.. Since we're on the topic of complaints. They should have added a door lock button on the centre console like what I saw in the Pug 308. More convenient for the front or rear passenger to access the lock/unlock function in case the driver needs to leave the car unattended for a while. As it is, the front passenger has to reach all the way to the driver's side to lock/unlock the car. A bit ol' skool.maybe after the tyre goes bald, plan to changer to a better one.. do you think changing to 215x50 R17 will make the ride more comfortable and able to absord the uneven road better? Also, I would have preferred multi-link or at least McPherson struts at the rear instead of torsion beam. Handling a bit iffy around the bends. Lastly, the GB is quite reluctant to gear down during descents. A bit dangerous esp when taking a downhill bend. There should have been an "L" position on the gear stick to allow us to switch immediately to a lower gear. It is not so much a problem for us 2.0 6-sp users as we can immediately downshift with the paddle shifters, but for the 1.6 owners they have to switch the stick over to (+ -) mode to gear down. I don't see why they had to take that function away from the 1.6SX. Of all the silly things they omitted from the 1.6, this has got to be the silliest. |

QUOTE(epo @ Dec 13 2011, 01:03 AM) i'm using it for 1.9 years... Thanks for sharing. I think (1) is by default, (2) can change the tyres, so means no major issue..nothing to complaint except 2 things :- 1. can't lock the car when the engine/aircond on 2. humming sound tyre the rest tip top... go for 25k service this thursday... |

^ If you compare the technical sheet, you will notice a lot of obvious difference already. Have you looked at it? It's on the first page of this Thread..
Once you've reviewed it and you have some questions then ask them here. Added on December 14, 2011, 9:29 amOr look at this website, NAZA made it very simple for you. http://www.nazakia.com.my/sedans/forte-6-s...eatures-options This post has been edited by derlin: Dec 14 2011, 09:29 AM |

All the new 1.6SX's I saw have paddle shifts (unless they removed it in newer cars). what he mean is we 1.6SX need additional step (move the GB to right) then only can use paddle shift unlike 2.0 no need to move the GB .... BTW, I'm using 4-speed Forte, and I don't have experience driving the new 6-speed to me, i treat this as special action like going into sport mode .. somehow i enjoy it although it is not so convenient |

AgreedQUOTE Also, I would have preferred multi-link or at least McPherson struts at the rear instead of torsion beam. Handling a bit iffy around the bends. Didn't agree coz prefer spacious boot. So far current handling enough for me...QUOTE Lastly, the GB is quite reluctant to gear down during descents. A bit dangerous esp when taking a downhill bend. There should have been an "L" position on the gear stick to allow us to switch immediately to a lower gear. I never use AUTO when drive out of KL, so no issue to down shift the gear...if use AUTO always eat smoke... AUTO use for in KL only... |
