Must say the defence was really good! Teamwork was superb with tracking backs from flanks.

Superb performance from my beloved Italy

I hope this is not another false dawn as we beat England in the WC first match but ended up getting eliminated after poor second and third games unsure.gif

yeap. Its safe to say the match against Sweden is like a make of break for us. We win that, we booked our place on KO stage. From there, Italy can really did
well, and who knows...making it to the final once again

*i really hope we beat em this time. Still haven't forgotten about the Sweden-Denmark "biscotto" back in 2004

since italy have beaten probably the strongest team which is Belgium in group match...the remaining ones should win as well...

on paper & ranking, Belgium might look the strongest. But gotta have to be wary of Ireland. I'm kinda impress bcoz on paper, Ibra & Co would made a short work
of them, but they're the one dominating Sweden and the Swedes are lucky to escape with a point

i think Ireland can be a surprise package of this group, depending on how they show up against Belgium next

honestly the biscotto thing happened bcos we r not gd enuf sampai kena depend on others...a true champion hopefuls must never rely on dat even though sometimes it happened...

luca toni...grosso world cup's squad was the best...underdog but powerful

honestly they peaked during d last euro n got fatigue against spain...they even huffed n puffed during d last world cup due to the d euro hype (and balotelli!!!)...now they r getting the best out of nothing...

i can feel the aura when everybody looking down on them...d spirit now is right...the only problem is they need the defence to stay intact during d knockouts round...

ps: bro kolek hw lagi x laugh.gif

i agree...during euro 2012, i already expected italy to progress till the finals but their stamina had depleted, hence getting slaughtered by spain...sad day for me

For me, I do think partly also mistake in formation, we did relatively well in the opening match to Spain using 3-5-2 mid to contain.

3-5-2 formation works well if at least 2 of the midfielders (looking at De Rossi) are sharing defending responsibilities as well...

in the belgium match...lukaku almost scored a goal when presented with a 1-on-1 situation but luckily he missed the target

Biscotto, 2004

Revenge

What a way to beat em. Sweden having the majority of possession(and hope), only to conceded at last minute. we're through and probably on Sweden expanse
