Yeap. Acer Aspire 5750G. I bought it for RM2899 at Sarawak acer outlet. Build quality and temperature I'm not sure...

Rebate RM200 for an old faulty acer laptop and they gave me a 16GB free acer pendrive. LOL.

You can use CPUID HWMonitor.

HWmonitor, GPU-Z, AIDA64, etc...

If not OCing ,<80 . If OC , max 91.

^ I think the framerate will go below 20FPS if I record Metro 2033, Crysis 2 and Bad Company 2. Even on the lowest settings..

The FPS killer for the Bad Company 2 is the HBAO feature. Try turn it off, you will notice quite huge FPS increase.

I turn it off already. Still lag in large maps. With high terrain details. Don't know if my laptop will burn if I try Battlefield 3 on it.

Burn? Doubt it. If it would, my A42JV would be a pile of ash by now when you see how much I torture it.

Haha yeah it is quite demanding. and the recommended GPU for the battlefield 3 is GTX580 for the best gameplay.

But that one also see the resolution. I'm assuming it's for full HD.

Haha GTX570 is undoubtly powerful, it scores 21000+ for Vantage GPU score, that's almost as good as dual HD6970M.

If its GTX580, I rather not play the game LOL. Maybe I will get it for PS3 instead.

@TS: u enabled the Extra Touch Ink or Fixed the frame rate? It looks slightly slow motion... just a bit.

Yeah, extra touch and Fixed frame rate. Kinda lag a bit when I record it. Around 52FPS. Fraps reduce the frame rate.


and my Black Ops, I'm actually recording at 800x600. Fraps reduces like 30FPS when I'm recording.

Not really... just need a decent processor like an Intel Core i5 or an AMD Phenom II x4 (both overclocked a bit of course) to pair up with it.

i m using Fraps too. here is something u should know, in Fraps, go to Movie, change it to 60 FPS, try record it again...

lag with bad company 2? funny...tried it on my friend's xps15 and was pretty smooth...except that it had screen flickering problems. Haven't tried on mine yet though.

Mine also smooth in some missions, like missions in the jungle, in the snowy area. But I lag a lot at the dessert city, some Pakistani areas with explosions everywhere.

ts, im new on notebook usage. right now i can see that the current gpu that im using is the intel hd. but i have gt540. how can i switch to use the gt540 and how can i see or view what gpu am i currently using ? thanks

right click the thg u wan open...then choose run wif graphic processor > gt540 or intel

First, you can choose to display the Nvidia icon in the notification area, by using your Nvidia Control Panel.

When you're using Firefox, Real Player, Google Chrome, Intel HD will be used. But it still looks nice.

When you're playing games, you can click on the Nvidia icon, to see what programs are using the GT540M.

Notice that the GPU activity under Nvidia GT540M is Black Ops and the Calendar side bar desktop gadget

I'm quite satisfied with my acer 5750G laptop.

But the thing is that I can actually use the RM3000 to build a gaming desktop. Because I need something for gaming.

BUT I have to study in university and other places cause im 18, so I have no other choices.

I think this final battle with Meridith in Dragon Age 2 is pretty cool. It was running at DX11, so graphic still a little choppy during cut-scene, but not affected during game play.

Huh? I don't think you're running on DX11. I run Dragon Age 2 using DX9. If I use DX11, the fps is less than 5. It happens when I enabled the high resolution textures under DX11.

But I am running at DX11 and using High Res Texture too. All my gameplay are recorded in native res 1366x768. I heard driver 270 solve the poor performance of Dragon Age 2 in nVidia card.

Compare Dx11 (left) and Dx9 (right). Although the encoded movie in youtube is blur (left) compare to the screen capture in Dx9 (right), you can see the difference in my Champion Armor. Both using High Res texture. You also should see that the floor in Youtube movie is even sharper than the screen capture.

Great thanks to @cowithgun. I have updated my Nvidia driver to version 270.61. Now, I can run Dragon Age 2 with DirectX11 enabled at medium settings, with 45 - 50 FPS without Fraps.

Nope, no lag in the cutscenes. I can hardly see any screen tearing also.

I see. I was using the default High setting. As you can see the effect of lag in cut-scene is really minimal, so, i prefer to set it High for better quality. I also enabled Vsync because I dont like to see any screen tearing at all. It's a beautiful game.

What is your maximum Street Fighter 4 score if using the setting like mine? The benchmark in SF4 is really fun to watch, especially when they are in fast forward motion

I set all my settings to highest. I max it. I run benchmark and the average FPS is 59.75FPS

how do u manage to get this? I run the benchmark, they only show videos, and they didnt give results like this one (your one)

Anyway, I'm now doing some recording of Brink gameplay using my laptop. Its a really new game. Just released this morning.

That's not fair, you have way more memory, if i count correctly, that is 2147 terebytes of graphic memory.

I OC my 5650m, that's why it's a little higher. On stock clock, it is only 10206, which is still lower than GT540M. Will be interesting to find out if GT540M can out-perform 5650M after OC. I suspect (no mean to offense anyone) 5650 will still pawn... hope someone can proof me wrong.

Will be waiting for more gameplay from you.

I don't dare to overclock la..just bought this laptop two months ago. Actually less than 2 months. But I'd like to know how to overclock, just in case next time I wanna take risk overclocking it.

I suggest u try ur black ops with Vsync ON and AA to max, i'm sure u'll be able to still play smoothly with better graphics!




I maxed everything out, average of 40 to 60 FPS , 60 FPS is the limit as VSYNC is ON . it wont go higher than 60

Managed to play smoothly with temeperatures at peak 90'c

no problem playing for hours at all

ATI 6550M 1gb , on the Acer TimelineX 4820tg , Core i5 480M .

Stock clocks, i tried higher clocks for the GPU , but only a little increase in FPS around 43-60. 700/900 .

not to show off or anything, just proof that u can push ur graphics settings higher

u can use MSI afterburner, riva tuner, etc.

you can also flash your card's bios by using the nibitor and the nvidia flash tool. make sure to back up your ori bios and then flash it in cmd.
