Might be a design flow, or their prototype didn't had any issue because it was done by their engineers. Then during mass production its done by operators instead which is volume orientated instead of quality.
it seems like apple new products nowadays sure got at least one notable issue one. like IP4 the antenna prob. now ipad2 bleeding prob.

I think I heard some guys before until 3weeks got no news till.
U can see this link of why u shouldn't put it into warranty now.
http://www.cultofmac.com/if-your-ipad-2-ha...heres-why/87197As for my iPad only got little "bleed" on the left bottom.
Other than none..
ya i think all the current batch of the products all will suffer from the same prob no matter how many time u replace now.
just make sure no dead pixels can already. it is more irritating than the bleeding prob.

If shouldn't be an issue or even noticeable when you using it at normal light or daylight. If you use it at a dark or dim light room with a dark colour background showing on your iPad screen, you will notice the light bleeding at certain places at the edge of the iPad. It's been reported earlier after a few days the iPad2 launch in US, Apple is ready to replace these units as well. This is what holds me back from getting an iPad2 at this early stage of batch coz I believe Apple have rectified and solve this problem for the next batch. Just don't feel like unboxing a new iPad 2 and send to the Service Centre to replace a refurbish unit..

....hati tak sedap le..

i think apple should hold all the current stock and stop selling the faulty products until the prob is rectified. in the end after the new batch with no prob comes out, sure everyone rushes to exchange as well.

Precisely, that's what in my mind as well. After paying our own "Hard-Earned" money, I demand a new proper conditioned unit rather exchanging a reburbished unit as I mentioned earlier. It's ok for someone who can get along with the problem and live with it, anyway it's your own money and you make the decision yourself. Since my wife will gonna use it to watch movies in the bedroom with lights off, it will going to be obviously distrating if there's some light bleeding on certain edges. I doubt the problem only applies to white colour iPad, in fact it seems to be applies to both Black and White as well. ATM, just stick with my iPad 1 first till there's news of newer batch of iPad2 comes into our shore.
i think either u wait til perfect batch of product out then buy, or u just bear with the imperfect product if u cannot wait to get it.

Just check the one I just replaced, still have light leakage but a lot less severe i.e. not that distracting while watching videos.
The discussions in other forums is that the serial number where the forth alphabet is F (meaning first quarter batch) will have a high chance of light bleeding.
The second batch which should be the second quarter starting in may will be the new batch. So I'm gonna try my luck again in two weeks. At least I get a new ipad 2 every two weeks. haha..
i get two ipad 16GB 3G sets (black and white) today. the fouth serial number still "F", meaning high chance will have bleeding issue too?
p.s. haven't opened yet.

The refund policy is two weeks for Apple devices so long as you don't damage it and no engraving. I went to the Apple Store for a refund after my first replacement turns out to have light bleeding also. The first replacement I got was a refurbished set.
So I told them unless they replace me with a new set still wrapped in white box, I wanted a refund. They replaced mine with a new one because it was still within the 2-week refund period. My 2-week refund period was also renewed after getting the new ipad 2.
Turns out it still have light bleeding though the latest one was less severe. I will repeat the same process again before my 2-week period expired. Oh btw, all the colours are black, I really don't know why gogo2 insisted that only white has light bleeding problems. I even encountered black ones with a dead pixel.
i called up apple malaysia, they said no refund policy man
