Do update if you're given a new unit, or a refurbished unit (usually in grey box instead of the white retail box)

I send my ipad 2 for warranty due to mic problem but they just take my ipad 2 only without taking the box and the USB, that mean apple repair my ipad only without replace a new unit?

They said it will a new unit, not refurbished unit.
Coz i bought it on 16 may, and i went home and check there are screen bleed problem, so i sent it to them and ask for 1 to 1 exchange.

Refurbish = New for them... There this answered you smile.gif

Digi = refurbish

Maxis = 1/1 new set

Apple STore = refurbish/new depends on stock smile.gif

Just got my ipad2 yesterday. Checked and notice that the screen bleeding is very very minimal only to one side.

For the first time, I checked my first gen ipad for screen bleed. It actually bleed slightly more than my new ipad2

yup... refub unit is new to them... kena on my iphone...
open box in shop and found out the speaker not working... nned to wait 2 weeks for 1:1 exchange to get a refub set from DiGi... a bit dissapointed... noe my ipad 2 also has screen bleed on all 4 corners.. not sure if want to get a refub one again or just keep the new ipad2 for few months before send for warranty smile.gif

Like wise, back then when I called up Apple Center, I asked about this before. To them new and refurbished they consider it new. Cause I asked if I were to get a new retail set, or a set with brown box. They mentioned depending on stock availability.

even with stock availibity, they will only take your ipad rather then the whole set with box... this means still refub unit smile.gif

Correct, this is right or maybe what everyone expects. But if Apple's refurbished units starts to pile up due to many RMA of the iPad 2, these will be given instead of new retail sets.

Challenger IT Melaka. They sent it back to Apple for me, then I have to wait for my replacement unit to arrive.

I bought mine from Apple Store online... DHL took mine together with the whole box and everything...
It'll arrive by this coming Friday if everything goes well... We'll see if it's a refurbish unit or new....
To me as long as it's a close to flawless unit, I'm fine with that....
