Can't sleep thanks to my flu pill, so kinda share my experience.

My unit #1 is a DLXF (Week 18), it had slight light leakage, I could accept but have dead pixels so I returned it for warranty. Then when my replacement arrived 1 week later, its a DLXF (Week 17). It is also a new retail unit actually.

First thing I noticed is the new unit is brighter! Thought my eyes were playing with me so I took a photo of it..using the exact same settings to ensure same exposure of the photo.



I'm thinking my current unit seems to have more light leakage due to brighter panel? Both are set to 100% brightness.

If bright dot like blue or red or white appear only on black background, that one consider as stuck pixel. Try to search at youtube for 'stuck pixel fix'.

Dun want to fix it le. Apple is replacing a new unit as replacement.

Hi Celciuz, so whats your next step? Return it back to the reseller and exchange for another 1 or wait until the screen bleeding problem is solved then only changed? I just had my Ipad 2 exchanged and hopefully the replacement is perfect...fingers crossed..

Zzzzz I'll wait for 6month to replace mine...... No need to exchange so fast cause only bleed from 1point and no so big...

zonan4...where did you bought yours? 6 months time, thats quite a while..

My replacement so far no dead pixels, so I'm sticking with it I guess The light bleed not exactly obvious, a bit tired of waiting.

Anyways if you call Apple now, they will tell you the new stocks are fixed blablah, but actually as you can see still there. I suspected it is due to the way they attach the glass, using glue instead of screw. That is why very little units is trouble free where majority having issue.

how long did you wait for the replacement to arrive? I waited for 4 days and its like 4 years..lol

I called Apple CS on Monday, they said they will arrange DHL to collect the iPad 2 from me, I call back wednesday to double conform again and they say the DHL will collect from me soon, but until now DHL not yet call me!!

Anyone here exchange their unit from Apple Online store? How many weeks you got your replaced unit?

Waited exactly 1 week for the replacement.

They will send and also collect the same time?

No they will not, I asked Apple CS they said DHL guy will collect the iPad 2 from me than they send it to Apple warehouse to check,
After everything is ok Apple will send again a Shipment notification to me and has to wait 1-2 weeks.

Just received my iPad 2 from challenger, is week 18, May

For Light bleeding is still acceptable, Luckily no dead pixel, thanks god..

Did you buy from them directly through Apple Online Store?

I heard some people able to claim advance replacement.

Ya i directly brought from Apple Online store n 29th April.
i asked Apple twice but still give same answer.

Screen bleeding is one major issue, recently i found another non-consistent on this ipad 2 screen, which is the screen temperature.

I compare side by side two different ipad 2 bought at same store. One of the screen is showing white cooler color, another tend to be more warm color and feel yellowish.
(both ipad 2 with same brightness).

Although this Screen temperature is not as critical like screen bleeding. But i guess this issue can be solve if apple can include screen calibration in future ios.

so u wont change for replacement?

did my bleeding issue serious? i heard some lowyat member say is brighter panel cause it look more brighter? anyone who same or worse than me ask for replacement? and how long can we request replacement for bleending issue? 1 week? or within warranty?

anyone know if epicenter will replace an ipad2 if there is one dead/stuck pixel. got one of my pixel maintain blue throughout

I got stuck pixel green color. Call up Apple. They duno what is stuck. Have to say dead pixel. DHL will come pick up next week. No screen bleed. Black iPad

week 20 production, look like no bleeding

1 dead pixel and they allow you to claim for a new unit?

Cause I remember seeing their spec stating for 9.7" more than 2 only eligible. If even 1 also allow then its good I guess
