Just read about a review for HK II
http://www.overclock.net/hardware/showprod...hp?product=1112

User gave 5 star to design
but for sound quality given a review to have a decent edifier compare to the HKSC II

would like to hear honest opinion from current user ... how's the sound quality compare to a S530 or even a 330D

obviously you don't know me .... for ppl who knows that those who prefer C3 over 330D are in the edifier range aren't bass boogers

So are you a HK fanatic ? if yes i can't blame you, on such an aggressive baseless accusation.

Probably you think that ppl from Kepong/Sg Buloh are ppl who tend to blast loud song as long a Chinese will be a conto techno lover - such a shallow minded fellow, didn't expect to receive such reply from a serious column of the forum. To beggarmaster please throw your comments in kopitiam is much suited in that segment.

btw back on track(Budget : Speaker + SC or Speaker = $550-700) :

actually looking at
C3 - because at that price gave the best sound quality, felt that a big upgrade from his bro C2 and will take the extra's for a SC (not much differences compare to 330)
C5 - waiting for official price and to test out
HKSS 2/3 - will settle for this if I drive down to SG
Creative T3 - Yet to test
Aego - Yet to test
S530 - Yet to test
* so basically the selection is about if I pay so much more, how much more it can satisfy my ears in a 6x5m room

Tested MX6021, R501 - not my type of speaker
sorry can't afford 730 etc...

yes, corsair is good too...
titarium chill, you need to go learn electronics before commenting.
i'm not biased, just anal at times =)

open up a c3, check the woofer. according to the datasheet it should be 4ohm instead of 8
thats why it lacks of bass. you must know electronics to be able to tell this....

how much is this?
is it suitable for playing games, movies, and hear some techno music in the laptop?
how about the bass? as long as the woofer can bang bang boom in my room.

interested... but have to sell my beat solo first, still waiting from HP to delivered to me. yawn.gif

edifier, if can swap my beat solo with other speaker that equivalent to my beat solo price, just let me know k.

Bro Beggarmeaster2000,

For your info, the datasheet already mention C3 using 4ohm woofer driver and Edifier will install a 4ohm woofer in the sub instead of 8ohm. please don't miss lead other forumer if u don't read the spec properly.
Beside that, please show me the photo of 8ohm woofer u talking about, i will pass it to Edifier for verify, please stop saying something if u r not sure about it.
Edifier is a listed company, we produce the speaker according the specification we provide.
Please check - C3 Specification

If everyone requires to learn about electronic to select a speaker, I see no point of this thread around. So to whom is going to buy a set of speaker please sign up to nearest Uni / Col and get your self a Dipl in Electronics Engineering.
*Not everyone will go to the extreme details on buying a product, consumer will buy within the budget and the best of choice according to their individual taste and the reputation of the brand

You might be an electronic enthusiast, but you are too arrogant to properly sharing your knowledge

Shall I suggest you to send in your resume to Formosa Prosonic ? or you are actually working there ?

Please do not put words over my comment I mention sound quality didn't impress me at that price bracket never once I said the power ratio or anything relate to more powerful bass or power in my comment, I am requesting honest opinion from user who made comparison with Edifier's series around that price range (eg: S530) , as mentioned by that reviewer.

Please do read over ppl's comment before you make any judgement, or please do not make any judgment at all you arn't in a good position to do so.

Sorry I am not an expert in electronics nor a sound engineer, my comparison basis is made of:
RM 400 - I get this quality, wow for this price I can get so much more compare to model X at RM 300
RM 600 - I get that quality
*RM 200 extra is it worth it ? for this model
-=And I believe alot of user here seeking opinion are base on such testing and recommendation -> how much more I can get if I extend my $$ to this model, and at this price range what is the best suited for each individual=-

I do appreciate you pin pointing quality components in one model after another, but the way you portrait in such a rude and arrogant manner just purely shows that you are here to show off rather than giving an honest opinion.

Hope you could keep your comment to yourself , especially if you don't have constructive to contribute, I doubt you will have any question to post here as you sound a self pro-claim expert.

Agree on this, sound like I am form the 80's as well.

For those who are aiming for C3 do test it along other model around that price bracket RM 350 - 450

lols...

in my case... metal songs SUCKS when there is too much bass... that probably explains why I wouldn't mind getting a C3 XD

Even my S530D didn't get full blast on subwoofer haha. Always set everything to zero (except volume of course, which is around 45 at constant)

Edifier, is a good brand to start with. every brand has it points and weaknesses

i don't want to start brand wars by showing pictures all over the place as i have nothing to prove =)

if you are unsatisfied. please pm and i will exhibit to you in private.

when comparing PC speakers a more expensive speakers is not always better in terms of overall sound. some people just like too much bass, some others like too much treble and etc. however, if you find a sound signature that you like, you can easily find what kind of speakers you are looking for.

For me, Edifier C3 is quite neutral PC speakers. it doesn't have too much treble nor bass. thus some people like / dislike it. while speakers like Creative T3 is bloated with bass and treble leaving a thin mids. if you like this speakers, you should try Edifier S530/S730 because for me they have pretty similar sound characteristic.

yeah, u should give sp2500 a try. clarity, sparkles and sound imaging is great with this speaker. I pair it with the wolfson dac thou and i think this dac is not good enough to drive this speaker. Should use it with high end soundcard or else it will bottleneck the performance. This speaker definetly not for basshead because, a lot of my friend said this speaker lack of bass including my father?? Haha!

looks like quite a number of forumers recommend this as well, will take Sp2500 in to consideration

btw anyone can suggest where to test out
Sp2500
C530
Aego M
Creative T3 -> might be giving this a pass

as for sound card any recommendation within RM 200 ? btw is a RM 200 sound card good enough ?
