You mean Shure SE115 don't you? smile.gif
By the way, want to ask about Klipsch S4.

And additional info is Jaben's Wallabies recommended Denon AHC560R or Klipsch S4.
But I was told that AHC560R has a little bit of compatibilities issue with Nokia devices which can be solved using adapter but well, I thought this would be troublesome, so I told him I wanted the Klipsch instead. But I haven't purchased till now cause can't go to his place.

They do postage, or do you want to test it before you make a decision? If so then just disregard this reply.

Well, actually I just don't really want to trust the postage that's all cause my housing area is always having issues with postage. doh.gif
But well, I think postage is the last choice for me. biggrin.gif

Hey guys. Read alot of the headphones recommendation section. Jz some noob questions.
What's the khz for ?
For example, im currently using sony mdr v700 dj.
5 - 30000 khz.
Heard that the wider range the better. rite?

Another question, recommendations for headphones which has better bass than sony mdr v700 dj? I think sony mdr v700 dj has not enough bass for me. Budget rm400.

And does sony mdr v700 dj nid amps ? Thanks alot. =]

The rough rule of thumb is, yes the wider the range the better.
HOWEVER, it will be harder for the driver to respond to all that frequency, especially single driver(speaker) designs. Therefore, although a certain headphone might be able to respond to a very wide frequency(measured in Hz or kHz) range, it is a matter of how well they are presented that will determine how good the sound is. That and along with other factors as well. There are a lot of IEM/headphones out there that are class leading and yet only need to produce 20Hz-22kHz. It's not entirely a matter of how much it can do, but more of how well it can actually do it. Cheap headphones can do that as well, but some can have muddy bass, peaky highs, too fat mids, thin mids, etc. etc.

Try the Sony XB headphone series, the ones with very fat cushions. Like the MDR-XB300 or MDR-XB500...those have an insane amount of bass.

i see. Thanks for the info. And yeah i was eyeing the sony mdr xb series too, but i bought mdrv 700dj. Saw many recommendations for budget range rm400 Audio technica AD700, AKG k450, Denon ah-d1100, sen hd558, audio technica m50, shure srh840. wonder sony xb series are as good as those ? Jz wanna go for best sound quality. And does mdr v700 has the sound quality as those above ? Jz trying to compare. =]

Oh ya and i found that my mdr v700 makes me feel pain after wearing long hours because im with glasses.

Oh, I thought you were purely looking for bass.
In that case, the others you mention may have a better sound quality.....in fact seeing your list yeah they are definitely better. I don't know bass wise how much 'quantity' they're able to give, but I'm sure they will be good in 'quality' for the price.

I have not tried any of them honestly. Although did try one of the XB. The 'monster truck tyre' cushions really are comfy and I do wear glasses...although they do look ridiculous. laugh.gif
I pretended I was interested in the XB so that they'll take it out of the box....I tried it, and said, "yeah they sound alright, but I thought they were going to be less ugly on me". So they put it back in and I walked out of the store. tongue.gif That's the only way I can audition one where I am. laugh.gif

Since you are wearing glasses, the K450 will do well for you among the others hmm.gif Here is an honest review on the AKG K450 from a fellow forumner on the 2nd last post on this thread: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/343375/+1600.

Do go to MacStudio at Bangsar Shopping Centre and ask for a demo, let your ears decide.

If you are simply going to use it for strategy games, an audiophile headphone is the better choice. FPS requires a different characteristic than strategy. Positioning isn't as crucial, so any music oriented headphone will do the job well for strategy games, and you get to enjoy music better with them too.

Oh and you can audition all that you mentioned at Jaben Malaysia, or the AKG K450 at the place that E1-AKG mentioned.

Hey guys wanna ask your opinion on headphones.
I'm currently using Shure SRH440 but they're kinda big and not really portable to be used on the go. sooo...

- My Rig: iPod Nano 4gen
- Type of usage: music listening
- File format: FLAC, MP3 VBR
- Music genre: Acoustic, Rock, Alternative (you can see from my sig i'm a Radiohead fan), Screamo, Electro, House, Dubstep, almost everything except those mainstream Bieber-ish songs? haha
- Budget: < RM600?
- Headphone/ earphone type: Over-ear Headphones
- Other requirements: Has to be lightweight, portable.

I'm thinking Fischer Audio FA-004. They look great, seems to have good reviews and the price isn't bad.
And then there's the AiAiAi TMA-1. Looks great as well, also seems to have good reviews but kinda expensive. Also, is it On-ear or Over-ear?

AAAND 1 more thing, anyone tried the Fiio E11 amp? is it comparable to Hippo Box+/Ordnance .22/Govibe Martini etc etc? haha
I liked how my Shure sounded with the Hippo Box+ (i find that the SRH440 is kinda lacking bass without it), not so much on the ordnance because it made the highs sound kinda ear-piercing.

Using Denon AH-D1001, it seems to fit ur requirements. Lightweight, portable, extremely comfortable(I can wear it for 3-4 hours without any fatigue).. It's also a good all-rounder headphones. I listen to almost every types of songs and they sound good in most of the songs.

Give it a try. wink.gif

EDIT: Forgot to mention that they pair really good with Hippo Box+. So u don't have to worry finding a new amp for it tongue.gif
