Unfortunately I dont have spare android box to test it out.  sad.gif I haven't turn on my HyppTV box but it doesnt cause any problem while connecting to the AVR.

You mean u still need to connect optical cable to get the audio from TV apps ?
*
yes, i use optical cable for ARC, works good.

i had never tried using HDMI arc.

becos i need all 4 hdmi of tv for inputs.

Currently have to connect optical cable from TV to receiver just for the TV audio (youtube/netflix/iflix ... etc), n everytime have to manually switch audio channel on the receiver.
*
i dun follow this part... why?

the optical cable connected to AVR is just one button on the AVR remote.

whether netflix or youtube or other apps, unifitv... it just deliver the tv audio back to the AVR with that output choice.

or u mean u switch when changing to DVD, game console, q10pro, TV apps..? that's normal... diff hdmi inputs into AVR.

HDMI arc wouldnt occupy extra hdmi input on ur TV, because it will use ur TV to AVR hdmi connection, u just need to turn on the arc.

Correct me if im wrong.

If im not mistaken, if I use HDMI arc without optical cable, when I open Netflix on TV, the AVR switch to TV audio automatically.

Btw, i only play around with it for 1 day, need more time to confirm. sweat.gif

Yeah, play with it, see what u get.
Possible diff tvs behave diff.
My sharp tv, if i use hdmi arc, all audio goes to avr, no tv audio.
I use optical to have both avr and tv audio, choose either.

Anyway, this arc thing is surely limited by the tv hardware too.
one more stop means one more degradation of audio.
Best is device direct hdmi to avr to get total audio pass thru.
More so for q10pro audio capabilities.

Of course, poor audio streams like unifitv, common apps... not much diff.

Now i understand why u need to connect optical cable, luckily for me i connect everything to avr only, nothing to TV.

That is why I dont need optical cable at all if HDMI arc working properly.

Will play around with it on the setting, but the problem with Q10 pro arc is very obvious.

Experienced this with HTS, possible workaround is you need to test different modes of switching on the devices to get the one that works... Example:
A.... Himedia then AVR or
B....AVR then Himedia, etc.

The problem with mine is, Himedia will caused interference to the ARC even without switching on, as long as it is connected to the AVR with HDMI cable. This is reported in futeko forum as well.

I see.. Can't be helped then... Have to see about that special cable or keep it unplugged before turning on the AVR.

I know this doesn't matter to most people, but which version of FW for Q10 Pro can display DVD Menus. I have used all sort of Media Players over the years and all of them can display DVD Menus.

Disappointed that Q10 Pro can't. Currently on 2.0.7 fw.
