QUOTE(Mr.Docter @ May 22 2011, 02:26 AM) I've read that the Momentus XT can decrease the battery life because of it's higher power draw during idle and load. I'm not sure also that's why I'm asking QUOTE(PF T.J. @ May 22 2011, 11:19 AM) Not trying to be a party spoiler, but you should take note of issues with Momentus XT: http://www.lowyat.net/v2/index.php?option=...d=3996&Itemid=2 Thanks for the link bro! Yeah the speed increase is quite noticeable, much faster then normal HDDs but of course slower then SSDs. Momentus XT doesn't have much, if any effect on battery life compared to normal ones>? The speed is faster though, not as fast as an SSD, but way faster than a regular HDD, so I guess its worth it |

QUOTE(Mr.Docter @ May 21 2011, 08:34 PM) True that. The recabling I will have to wait for later on only. Trying to limit my spending on everything as I am travelling overseas a lot this year. The upgrade to the ATI HD 6970 looks the likeliest at the moment compared to getting an M18x which is tempting but I think I wanna control my spending la. Selling off an ATI 5870 M15x + GTX 260M is tricky with 1 year warranty left. ALready treated myself to the SHURE SE 535 as a bthday gift lols. YOur upgrade to the Momentux XT is a good idea. 180 SSD is awesome but an investment really. Regarding recabling your stock cable, you may refer to below link that will lead you to Jaben's thread under 'IEM sleeves and misc Section' ADD : http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=38957727 Cleaning up my GPUs now becoming one of my monthly activity during weekend. No more worried sweat after more than 7-10 times operating my Alienware LOL. Old system need some extra maintainence to keep it kicking arse. And I do plan to upgrade from 1TB (500GB + 500GB HDD) to 180GB SSD and 500GB 7200RPM Seagate Momentus XT for additional responsiveness. How is yours? I don't think the water vapor gonna do any damage, at least not like the water dropped directly on your Alienware. And update regarding your GPU upgrading plan? The water vapour I think didn't do any damage la, but no time to open and check but I ran the notebook warm so I guess if theres any inside it would evaporate. first thing I will do after exams is open the monster up and re-apply the thermal paste. Then maybe just do some physical checks here and there, clean the fans like you do. QUOTE(jiro1986 @ May 22 2011, 12:37 PM) Or you can do what I do which is purchase the Cooler Master U3 and add an extra single fan(So its a CM U4 lols 3+1 fans). The single fan actually can be purchased from computer shops and is powered via USB, and it actually spins much faster than the stock fans which comes with the U3 cos of no shared power. It draws its own directly from a USB, I position it right underneath my GPU fan vent and I noticed temp reductions of about 3-5 degrees at times. The cost will be a fraction of the Zalman but if you wanna get that u can carry on with it.QUOTE(GreaseMonkey90 @ May 22 2011, 03:53 PM) You know la bro. We here will always get it later than you guys.... Hey remember physical pics and your thoughts kay? |

QUOTE(kira-kun @ May 22 2011, 09:59 PM) Nice system u have there. Hows the temps on the ATI 6970 While gaming?QUOTE(putochip123 @ May 23 2011, 12:43 AM) Depends lo. If you start gaming high temps/stressing your system and don't wanna ON the air conditioning the Cooler is the most practical addition. |

I hope you have some high GPU Demanding games My crysis, sc 2 and ffxiv is back in Ipoh hahaI have rift and crysis 2 right now... Is that demanding for you yet? |

Hi guys
I have no idea why my command center is not working. It display 'Command Center has stopped working' I went to 'Service' and I cannot find Alien Command Center or AlienFusion at all. Before all this, I tried to disable AlienFusion because the auto-dim will not go back to normal brightness after dim. AlienFusion was there.... |
