Thanks bro!

BTW guys, any of you using the Seagate Momentus XT? I want to know what's the impact on the battery life is like. Heard that with the Momentus XT the usage time is decreased. Want to get first hand experience from you guys biggrin.gif

All been my pleasure mate!

Hmm Astria is currently using it, as well as kira-kun too as his secondary HDD.
*
Ooh I see, I shall wait for their replies then. Thinking whether to swap out the stock 500GB 7200rpm drive for the Momentus XT or not hmm.gif

Battery life is quite an important factor to me, else I wouldn't even think twice. Of course SSDs are wayy too expensive for me laugh.gif

I don't think HDD/XT/SSD main the role factor in preserving battery life..
*
I've read that the Momentus XT can decrease the battery life because of it's higher power draw during idle and load. I'm not sure also that's why I'm asking biggrin.gif

Not trying to be a party spoiler, but you should take note of issues with Momentus XT: http://www.lowyat.net/v2/index.php?option=...d=3996&Itemid=2
Momentus XT doesn't have much, if any effect on battery life compared to normal ones>?  hmm.gif
The speed is faster though, not as fast as an SSD, but way faster than a regular HDD, so I guess its worth it  wub.gif
*
Thanks for the link bro! Yeah the speed increase is quite noticeable, much faster then normal HDDs but of course slower then SSDs. biggrin.gif

Those owning M15x and m17x would be interested if the price is right  rclxms.gif
Just curious bro, why are you selling it? Too big? The cooling is impressive right?  hmm.gif
*
Yeahp, suitable for those monsters. My puny M14x is too small blush.gif One of the reasons why I'm selling it away laugh.gif

Cooling is very impressive. Manage to drop 10c compared to without any cooling thumbup.gif

^10 C reduction in load or idle ? for GPU or CPU or HDD ?
*
Was just a quick test, and it was at (almost) idle. Maximum temps on the monitor shows 60c, and after using the cooler it dropped to 49c. smile.gif

The temps are for the CPU.

QUOTE(putochip123 @ Jun 7 2011, 11:51 PM)
if 10'c reduction on a cooler(full load), then that cooler must be air con
*
Nope, my aircon was not turned on.

M18x is a lot heavier than the M17x hehe  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

Nvm what, the M14x's fan is louder right? So it doesn't matter miahahaha  laugh.gif
Well, if its smaller I would definitely buy from you  sad.gif
*
Yeah the M14x's fan is bloody loud when on full speed. Noise wise it's about the same as the SF-19 on max speed laugh.gif
