QUOTE(Devina_8 @ Apr 22 2011, 11:18 PM) i'm gonna sell my m15x and m11x soon!!! lol, mabey i can get m18x beside my upcoming sager np7280 ! i wanna try sager stuff, i'm really bored with alienware and their issues and bad costumer service ! but i really think m15x is one of the best 15 inches ever made, lawyas Runs coooooooooooool...first i started with alienware m17x with 4870 2x but that really annoyed me by the high tempratures and crossfire errors now and then...! lol i WISh alienware could offer GTX485M SLI and 6970M CF WITH i7 Desktops..... would u even wanna carry a dual socket 330W psu around? plus, you would get alot of auto shutdown in due to the amount of power needed just to power your dual 485s and desktop i7.and one more..... games tend to lag all of a sudden becos of power trips too. you will notice it. that is why alienware doesnt go for wot clevo is doing. i had that promblem with my 7280 that is why i returned it. QUOTE(Devina_8 @ Apr 23 2011, 02:00 AM) i dun use my laptop outside + people who would buy something like m18x and np7280 which are between 5 to 6.2 kg know that these are Desktop replacement and they dun need to really carry them outside ! so thats y i had m11x, but i replace it with macbook air Mine was 980x n sli 480ms. Now the reason why aw didn't go for desktop i7s are becos they are immensely innifficient in laptops. Thus they went for a processor the SB. By giving lower power consuming processor, it would mean that the gpus have a lower risk of throttling. Tht is where my hexacore n dual 480s come in conflict. Both of them, power hungry and constantly fighting for more power. Therefore more power was sucked. The 300w psu they provided couldn't handle the demanding so it cuts itself out from the wall causing it to trip. Becos of this problem, they have to use a 330w psu. Even tht can't solve the problem. They have use a dual socket. Yes im always at nbr checking. Even speedy Gonzalez thought it was it was inefficient, tht is why he sold his off. I'm not telling u not buy but just telling don't expect too much from it. Afterall, its powers had been limited due to the power cap.BTW what spec u were using??? using two PSU? for my own experience i played metro 2033 with i7 970 and GTX485mSLI plus 12gb ram....i set the res at 1080 and DX11 and very high without AA and i had around 30 to 38 frame, and i really played about an hour becuz i was enjoying the brilliant graphics, i didnt experience any lag or heat issue and turning off..... can u explaine me more? even at notebookreview owner lunge no one had problem of lag of sudden power trips. except before producing second PSU by sager. QUOTE(Devina_8 @ Apr 23 2011, 03:25 AM) about not being efficient of core i7 desktops at laptops i do agree...but i guess they would use more power of a SLI scale and CF scale of powerful cards like 6970 and gtx 485 over a Mobility Sandy-Bridge, how much i am not sure...wait to c the m18x results and bechmarks soon at Notebookcheck ! i dont mind the x7200. i would love to reown the relaunch version. but financial needs puts me in a barrier between m18x and x7200. and due to the fact the m18x can last 2 hrs or more than x7200. plus the and more efficient SB and stbr GTX485M for m18x makes it better as it scales better than other M quad core processor or maybe even a desktop processor. |

QUOTE(Devina_8 @ Apr 23 2011, 10:56 AM) but even though ther are not that efficient, using core i7 desktops in these laptops....always in notebookcheck benchmarks, they have the MAX Performance compare to any other laptops. because there are no laptops with a SB proc and dual gpu yet. so m18x will be the 1st. the x7200 was never a full scale flagship laptop. i was an experimental by looking at it. they did an absolute wonderful job at making a wee x58 board size and slap a desktop proc on it. but know the inefficiency of a desktop chips on a laptop, aw opted out. i dont think your wish of an aw with desktop processor is goin to happen for any time. it is also pointless at this time to insert a hexacore processor in a laptop as it has minimal utilization for all six core. most games run perfectly of 2 and 4 cores. the other 2 has little or no usage thus making it a liability for the system.yes financial i do agreeeee.....both are expensive machines if we really want to customize something like a real BEAST/ regarding of your last line, it think with choosing a 6970m CF we can have long battery in x7200 due to turning of CF scale and switch to VPU graphic core, its one of the features of 6970m as well, like the M17X but i am not sure...YEs but as i mentioned with even using 2920XM i dun think so it will be possible to beat the score benchmarks of a GTX45mSLI and 6970m CF of a sager laptop as i mentioned due to having almost 600WAT power adapters for them plus a desktop CPU would use ALL THE POTENTIAL of these sli and CF configuration... . this would be for sure. GTX485m SLI will not be available for m18x i guess...even 6970m CF there is doubts, but hopefully is there, but yes m18x advantages would be due to using SD moblity and hoeverver any other GPU, it would require much less power computation and having lower heats as well...for sacrificing perfectness beside it i guess m18x going to be great choice for hard core gamers...i am so excited to c the reviews. BTW nowadays CrossFire scales are perferming better than SLI scales....specialty, in more heavier games....i didnt fin crysis 2 suitable with 485m sli with those drivers errors and low FPS ! lol we should wait for new drivers.. but 6970m CF already has better FPS in crysis 2 and 1 and METOR 2033 all MAXED out and some other games...which made me to buy it, cuz paying 700USD more for only 7 % increasing in performance is a lots of WASTE i guess if they use 6970m CF in m18x that would be nice choice fot those who are needy! having monster lappppppys and of course....u wont see any of a dsktp proc on an AW laptop becos of their flagship auroras and alx. putting these processors means that their desktop would make minimal impact on the market or the other way around. both has its pros n cons. |

the reason i like the ALX is becos of the HDD slots are behind giving more airflow at the front and also the casing

ok so, i dont mind purchasing for those who want it but i cannot guarantee your doubts and the dell complete care would cover in malaysia (ps was told it will by the dell sales rep in US and canada). but i can assure u that the item will be shipped perfectly.
plus i wouldnt order from dell USA cos its more expensive than dell canada unless you are a serviceman (extra discount) in the US or u want the customized nameplate. if you do want to order from US, its outta my reach. overall this m18x is CAD2000 cheaper than the area51 m17x and the m17x i bought :/ |

QUOTE(DocLem @ May 9 2011, 07:23 PM) I've seen a lot of 'requests' from forumers to buy them AW products then have it sent over to their country, not just you bro. How exactly does this work? QUOTE(Mr.Docter @ May 10 2011, 12:04 AM) Transfer fund to him > he ordered as you wish > ship to your country > enjoy? yeap. wot he said. it has to be shipped to me 1st then ship to u. u can choose your shipping rate like xpress or standard. warranty coverage is in dell.Bear in mind that : - Additional cost for shipping. - Additional cost for tax (for certain country, Malaysia is excluded) - Unsure warranty coverage. - Additional fees for GreaseMonkey90 |
