2k hu with dvd player touchscreena nd gps can only get china made no brand one, check out the other threads theres one about it.

if u want branded, only got kenwood and alpine, will cost u around 5-6k. beter buy garmin for 900 and spend 1.1k on a medium range head unit.

as for speakers, what is your budget?

a bit of advise to all forummers...come in and ask us about your system BEFORE purchasing it....

if i were you id stay away from this kennon and lvaudio cap ayam stuff. take the 2 amps and pre amp out, just buy a decent brand 4ch amp. run your front and sub from it. rear speakers can run directly from HU. theres a high chance your noise issues are from the pre amp, or the amp, or their wiring, especially grounding.

Hi dear all, my current set up was
1) ori factory set up HU (Blaupunk)
2) epsilon pre-amp
3) 5-channel Eclipse 3650 - just install
4) Front - sony 6" component
5) Rear - Stellar 6" component
6) Kicker 12" sub

(i know all brands been mix up cos not buy all in one time, some inherit from my old car)
My questions,
1) significant 'airplane sound' after install of new amp. Previously i used 2 units cap ayam 2-channel amps but the 'sound' is not dat significant. Been checking the preamp and wirings all over but cant solved the problems. Any sifu have any idea what else need to check ?

2) if the culprit is the stock HU, any recommendation of HU (budget RM800-1.5k)?

keep your system simple. use back the hu and sub. buy one good 4ch amp and one good component set. but with your limited budget u should try and see whats available in the 2nd hand market also.

titann16
if u say the sound is from the new amp, then its probly the grounding of the amp is not good, thats what causing the noise.

amp boost output power, just have to see how much and clean can it boost. As for speakers, every speaker can handle boost, just gotta see the engineering and build quality, and recommended power handling in rms. Like the sifu said, what u pay is what u get. Most of the time la, hehe.

It depends on how much bass you want.

If you plan to install one 4ch amp, then you can ask the acc. shop to try with and without the sub.

...then you get to decide whether you like it or not.

Hi i'm a newbie in ICE and i want to ask for some help.

I'm driving a Honda City VTEC 2005 model and i want to change my audio system.

My budget is around RM 1k cos i only wanna add a component set and an amp. My HU is Kenwood KDC-W427.

Any Recommendations? Should I change my rear speakers too? I'm not really into songs with too strong bass. Rock and pop musics are those i listen to most.

I asked a shop and he recommended me 5 1/4" MTX CTC-130 at RM600 including fixing. Still no amps in mind yet. he also said he will use my original speaker cables.

Hope some sifus can give me some advice... THX

but isn't there a saying that sub compliments the components one another? without sub there would be lack of 'umph'(that's how i feel anyway).

ya... without the Boom Boom Pow theres a feeling like something is not right...
but they say 6x9 and a sub is just redundant... a 6x9 really that bad ??

personally i feel there's no point getting a 6x9. if i remember correctly using 6x9 u get a better 'bass'. however, it still can't produce the bass from a sub. i'd most definitely recommend getting a sub.

You are in Melaka ah? aiya...I thought you are in KL, then maybe can recommend some to you.

Anyway, don't go to Brothers la. Go to some other acc. shop that you intent to buy the 4ch amp from.

analogy for sub bass if using 6x9, active sub or real sub

6x9 - like drinking beer with one teaspoon at a time

active sub - like drinking beer with a straw

real sub - like drinking beer properly from the glass
