erm, guys,i'm kinda noob in ice here,i'm juz wondering why they are different numbers of RCA pre-outs?if i already installed side door panel speaker and using the ori speaker at rear now,(in future i might upgrade to 2 way speaker or 3 way),therefore,i need which type of HU
p/s:not planning to install sub woofer as i am not a bass fan, more to sound quality

Depends on ur budget. mid end pioneer HU comes with 3 rca pre out i think. Heres my thought:

2 way active : u need 2 rca preout for front & 1 for bass
3 way active: u need 4 rca preout ( 3 for front and 1 for bass)

take note sound quality is never complete without sub. nod.gif

I'm using Soundstream XSC.6 (150w) component set speakers for my MYVI rear doors. Never cut original doors. The speakers are actually touching the side of my door causing vibrations & noise.

I want to change the component set to the rear top panel & use my old 800W amp(2 channel caplang brand) to power the component set. I'm afraid if i use this new set up with amp there still might be strong vibrations. The rear panel is a half inch thick plastic material (need to cut to mount speakers).

I also have my old car speakers & player but not sure how to make use of it.I don't know if myvi stock HU power rating is better or worst then, my sony CD player (45wX4). Is it better to xchange the players?
My Sony 2 way 5&1/4 inch speakers can't fit myvi front speakers. (I didn't want to cut the front doors for it). Currently my myvi front is using kenwood 100w 4inch 2 way speakers.

I really need sifu's advice of which is the best way to set this up(wit budget of course biggrin.gif ). Thanks....

Sound Stream XSC.6 (mids,tweeter & crossover)

power handling: 150W
magnet weight: 13 Oz
Crossover Freq: High Pass 3.3khz
Crossover Slope: 12dB
Sensitivity: 83dB
Freaquency response: 85-20khz
Coil Size: 1.25 inch
Voice coil Impedence: 4 Ohm

Kenwood 110W 2 way speakers 4inch

I have (from my old tiara):

Sony 2 way 5&1/4 inch (13cm) speakers
Peak Power : 150w
Rated Power : 35w

Sony Xplod CD Player wit Aux in (CDX-GT 161s)
Max out: 45WX4

800W 2 channel amp

Dual 8inch woofer wit box (cheap wan)

Hi guys,

I'm driving a BLM saga now. The stock HU does not support MP3. I'm planning to change a HU that can play MP3/WMA with RDS and AF feature like the stock HU (clarion).

I'm not intend to change the speaker or add any other stuff in as I'm not really into that deep, and I'm satisfy with the stock speaker so far.

My budget is around 400-500 only, any HU that is good and cheap? So far I saw JVC and Pioneer offer quite cheap price for entry level HU but I'm not sure whether it is good like disc support, jump disc problem, etc. Please recommend something for me, thanks a lot!

I would love to discuss, but I'm not familiar with Kenwood, Soundstream, Sony, or EVE MBL amps. sad.gif

And, many times have been mentioned, there are no need for rear speakers.

I no longer plan to have the component speakers at the rear.
Plannin to moving to the front door (soundstream XSC.6).

Soundproofing 2 layer (inner & outer layer) 1 door = RM150 (not dynamat)
Ready made fiber 6.5 inch panel for front door = RM160 (pair)

Need to cut door to fit speaker in with fibre panel.
I want to know is it advisable to cut the metal piece inside the door. Will is produce a better quality sound or leaving the peice on is better ???
The shop say it will give more louder\complete bass as there is a bigger compartment.

I'll be using my 2 channel 800w amp (chine made) to power the component set.

Future plan to get 1 12 inch woofer and monoblock. NO idea wat brand to get. very limited budget <300-500. Don't need too loud just enuf that the car don't vibrate n make other sounds.

I'm in kulim neway...

Cut the door, you might need the spacer. They might have 2 kinds of spacer. one is mdf board, and 1 is made of metal. I would recommend you to use the metal 1 as it lasts longer and I think it is better

This is the fiber panel for the front door:

Do i need to use spacer for it? To avoid the window izzit or for sound quality.

Yea, to avoid the window. And if you are using this fibreglass, please ask them to measure properly so that this fibreglass does not block the speakers.

Sorry.. but i don't understand how the fiber panel would block the speaker... do you mean the edge to place the speakers?? Or something else...

because when u cut the metal on your door, you surely place your speaker on the metal of the door.

So the fiber only acts as a cover for your speaker, and not as a panel that holds your speaker.

Understand ma?

mine do not need to cut the metal on the door, that would reduce the rigidity of the door actually.

Cutting the door has already been proven to give better mid bass.

Lesser resonance, and vibration.
