hey all..

just some questions. hope you all can help me sort it out. smile.gif

1. how can i enable a Harrier (the new one) with a built-in screen to play DVD's? heard that all i need to do is install a DVD changer.. is it true? how about the player then? unsure.gif

2. the Harrier is a fully imported unit from Japan. how can i set it to receive local stations? so far it only detects radio stations from 76.0mhz to 90.0mhz..

thanks in advance.. smile.gif

2. You have to change the player. Because Japan have short wave band search which is nothing can be done.

no need change player laaaa.... u can go to reputable accesory shops and get the frequency booster (i think thats what its called). its an add on so u wont have to change the player... cost is around 100 if i remember correctly.

just go to the accesory shop and tell them ur issue about the japanese player and im sure theyll know.

anyknow knows anything about the DVD player? tongue.gif

oh yeah, just wanna ask, so i'm now stuck with a Jap system right? read through some forums and they mentioned that the only way to get an english system would be to "transplant" one from a UK Harrier..

right? tongue.gif

just get a new player...it'll cost much less..

the frequency booster wouldn't change the "number"..meaning you still wont be able to SEE 105.7mhz , or anything above 90.0mhz, but you'll receive it..

a bypass system perhaps...

I have seen people using Alpine HU even its Honda Accord 8th Gen already has the built in CD Player, the owner just left the built in CD player untouch.

I need advise again! haha..

Digital Crossover is better or Preamp is better? I want to install a gadget which I can tune the sound. Some recommended me Digital Crossover and some said Preamp. So can someone give me some positive idea?

electronix xover is generally better. downside is u cant really tune the thing while driving.

preamp, when installed at the right place can tune easily. biggrin.gif

hi all sifu2 blush.gif

i just got my new civic. so plan to improve my stock audio.
i got magnat bullpower4 amp & rockford fosgate series 1 12" subwoofer (taken from previous ride).. so i can just re-use them again to build my setup

HU for civic is built-in..i'm not planning to change it. it doesn't have any preouts. so i'll need a hi-lo converter for the connections.

i just went to one of reputable installer in KL. at first i didn't plan to change my stock speaker. but my installer advice me to change my front.. otherwise i won't be satisfied and might damage my stock speaker. after re-think i decided to change my front speaker too.

they quoted me rm600 for the installation which includes hi-lo converter, a very good cables origin from UK which i forgot the name already, lol.. Y-splitter, and they can make my rear speakers alive too.. and plus tuning. issit ok the cost?

and since i'm a beginner (don't plan to go much further).. they recommend me Alpine Type S component speaker. price is rm600. issit good ?

i decided to save some money first for my planning. since overall cost already rm1200.. i plan to stretch my budget abit to rm1500.. so my choice of component speaker can be around rm900.. any brand to recommend me?

thanks.. sorry for the long post tongue.gif blush.gif

ok thx. considering that i'm gonna stick with my current HU, amp & sub (i don't think i'm gonna upgrade further).. does my setup be able to match with those components that u recommended? or it just no diff with the alpine type S that my installer recommended.. due to any possible bottleneck??

Hi there. I'm need a recommendation for rm600 budget. Just HU and speakers will do with mp3 playback. The cheaper the better. The 1950G rm300 from pioneer ok or not? I check out pioneer's website, seems like no mp3 playback for 1950G..Have to get something else...

I hope it would be at least better than the stock waja, because the stock waja is good enough for me. Right now the ones from the iswara suck pretty bad with only a cassete player.

Am I asking too much? tongue.gif I have no intention of getting a subwoofer. And do I need an amp? Would it improve a lot if I'm not using any subwoofer? Thanks in advance

get Pioneer DEH 2950 or else 3950 will do. It plays MP3 and CD. Best part it comes with MOSFET 50w x4 channel. Enough power to power up speaker but not subwoofer.

Price is around RM 4xx only.
