I got some advice that if im not into heavy bass. Pioneer built in MOSFET 50wx4 is good enough to power up a set of component speaker and a pair of 6x9 speaker. A normal MRV V12 4 channel amp will only sound more blurry. Is this true?

I'm currently using Pioneer DEH 1550.

Added on February 22, 2007, 2:01 pmHi all sifu...

My current ICE stage 2

Car : Kancil only sweat.gif

HU : Pioneer DEH1550

Front speaker : Kancil stock BETAMAX 6.5" 2 way (being tuned for Vocal purpose using a capacitor for each speaker)

Tweeter : None as i'm saving for component speaker

Rear speaker : SOundstream XTS6.9 6x9 speaker (set as Subwoofer mode using FIE setting from Pioneer)

AMP : None as im currently using Pioneer MOSFET 50

Question :

Is my 6x9 sufficient for bass? As i don't really intend to put subwoofer.

usually i do tuning at night time when all the neighbour is sleeping n quiet. Hearing also better at night, need a lot patience to do fine tuning.

I agreed with you. Night is always the best. During the day, i don't get the loud sound whenever i turn up the volume. At night could be everyone is sleeping, sound pollutant is low...

I now getting puzzled where to put my amplifier in my new LMST. Under the seat? or behind the rear seat? Any advise? Must look neat.
*
Most of the installer put the amp under the front passenger underseat.

Installing the amp under the front passenger seat help to reduce the resistance of RCA cable connection from HU to AMP. I prefer installing the amp under my front passenger seat.

If they want to steal your amp, there is many ways, nothing is impossible. So better invest in 2 way alarm with shock sensors.

Because i heard from my friend recently his friend Satria with stock alarm being smashed windscreen. Stole his HU, gauge system, AMP, crossover and preamp.

hey all..

just some questions. hope you all can help me sort it out. smile.gif

1. how can i enable a Harrier (the new one) with a built-in screen to play DVD's? heard that all i need to do is install a DVD changer.. is it true? how about the player then? unsure.gif

2. the Harrier is a fully imported unit from Japan. how can i set it to receive local stations? so far it only detects radio stations from 76.0mhz to 90.0mhz..

thanks in advance.. smile.gif

2. You have to change the player. Because Japan have short wave band search which is nothing can be done.

thought so.. but then.. it's the in-built system with navigation and the lcd screen.. how to change? laugh.gif

a bypass system perhaps...

I have seen people using Alpine HU even its Honda Accord 8th Gen already has the built in CD Player, the owner just left the built in CD player untouch.

Hi there. I'm need a recommendation for rm600 budget. Just HU and speakers will do with mp3 playback. The cheaper the better. The 1950G rm300 from pioneer ok or not? I check out pioneer's website, seems like no mp3 playback for 1950G..Have to get something else...

I hope it would be at least better than the stock waja, because the stock waja is good enough for me. Right now the ones from the iswara suck pretty bad with only a cassete player.

Am I asking too much? tongue.gif  I have no intention of getting a subwoofer. And do I need an amp? Would it improve a lot if I'm not using any subwoofer? Thanks in advance

get Pioneer DEH 2950 or else 3950 will do. It plays MP3 and CD. Best part it comes with MOSFET 50w x4 channel. Enough power to power up speaker but not subwoofer.

Price is around RM 4xx only.

But is always to spent a bit more to have a better taste than regret later. Upgrades and changing speaker only incur more money. sweat.gif

yup, motorized faceplate, was the highest wattage HU in the world... 3 yrs ago, 70Wx4 with active dot matrix display and much more functions. can check my sig for the model no. Bought this HU cos wanted to try some other brand than the more common brand like Alpine, Kenwood and Pioneer. But obviously it's alpine and pioneer still meet my requirement. for this pana hu i'll give it 7.5/10 for overall performance. My next HU might be a pioneer... smile.gif But that's another 2-3 yrs to go b4 i have enough money to get another one.
*
WOW, 70Wx4 thats good power for users doesn't want to use amp in which takes boot space away.

Next HU a Pioneer? Which model? P80? drool.gif

I'm using Pioneer P6050UB, still tuning it for perfect sound sweat.gif

and

And 6x9 speaker for rear

something dat can do around 300w @ 2ohm... imho, class doesn't realli matter at this lvl. not much difference will be felt, onli more heat on class AB.
*
Based on your POI, Class D is not really a must then for subwoofer?

cause my woofer is running 2 ohm in which rated 300W and Max at 600W
