Summit is really in bad shape now, I hope they can rejuvenate it next year although I doubt there will any difference unless they kick out the existing tenants and buy over the lots and lease out to quality tenants like what Sunway is doing to Putra Mall.

I am not sure...just hear from mrk.

But if Damen doesnt have a cinema, that is a downside.

The flooring at Summit has improved la...and ppl go there for cheaper stuff

Just nice complement if Damen can have higher end retail

pavi reit acquire damen mall for 488m with NLA of 420k.. Opening in Nov 2015..

Any updates abt summit revamp?

I hope the REIT can make Damen a success like Pavilion? thumbup.gif At least get some good quality tenants. Most probably the REIT will lease out the units in Damen to control the tenants' quality.

Summit's reno works still ongoing, nt sure how it will change their fate if the same old tenants are retained? hmm.gif

no way to hit pavilon standard..if can even achieve subang parae standard is consider great..

so far despite manage n own by pavis the mall RELI struggle to get fashion tenants.. for fnb side i feel quite good..can see some updates last time in MRI page.. will update more tenants as the time comes..

Bro, u r referring to Pavillion mall struggling to get fashion tenants? hmm.gif

Yeah, at least Subang Parade or Empire std should be good enough, but the success of the mall really depend on the management quality of the mgmnt co.

Bro, the Pavilion REIT just announced today only ma that they are buying Da Men, so previously Damen struggled to get fashion tenants has got nothing to do with the REIT right?

mention b4, damen was always own by d big guy.. Within each mall management got multiple teams n if u know which team is here n there n then u got yr answer..

Equine is also Tan Sri Desmond's. It's transfered from right hand to left hand, that's about it.

As for mall quality, time will tell. I think Tan Sri Desmond is not stupid, it should do well since location is good, heavy traffic, lrt/brt, next to kesas.

Most importantly it's 450k nla which is quite big and bigger than Empire Subang (350k). Add in the shop offices summore and you have a very big retail/shoplot combo. The shop offices are 5-6 stories high and can provide good office worker flow for the fnb in Damen.

Since its the biggest mall in the area (other than Sunway Pyramid), it doesn't have a size problem. The main problem is competition. There are too many malls in USJ like Mainplace, Rhythm Avenue, One City etc. My opinion is that among all these Usj malls, Damen has the best location, infra (next to main highway and lrt/brt) as well as being close to Subang Jaya and the colleges. It is also big enough to be a reasonable player in the area.

It has the best location, infrastructure and retail leasing team (Malton) among USJ malls. I think Damen will do well and give the other USJ malls trouble. I see no reason why Damen won't be the USJ mall king.

I thought it's expected right. Tan Sri is related to both Equine and Pavi REIT. This should have been the plan since the start?
