Currently, I get my 4wd abt 3 months. 4wd can switch to 2wd, it will save fuel consumption. My best record when switched 2wd is average 6.7L/100km in highway driving.

4wd has 1 disadvantage, that is it is heavier by 100kg

Even if u use 2wd mode, u are still lugging 100kg excess weight...

My honest 2 cents worth of opinion..

If you likes those additional accesories.. Kos.. panaromic roof.. Etc .. Get the 4wd.

To me FC is just a freaking kiasu statement..
4wd is around 100kg only.. if put to figures most likely one full tank will get u extra 20-30km.. That is pretty small amount. At least for me.

A typical guy travel 20-25k a year in klang valley. Says the weigt translate to 1 cent diff per km (quite huge if u ask me for a same car .. ) .. A year the diff is juz rm200 translate to month is less than rm20 diff.. For me its nothing major at all..

Dear sifu,

I like to ask, when car engine is still running, what will happen if the electronic immobilizer is taken out from the car ?

For example, car is stopped but engine is running, driver with the immobilizer get out from the car.

Thanks.

Recently I noticed that whenever my car is idle, there was a "tok, tok, tok, tok, ......" sounds coming fr the right side of the engine (but not during start up in the morning).
Sent to service centre, the engineer said it was normal. It is actually the injector sound which I doubt it.

Anyone hv similar experience? Any SIFU can advice?

Hi All

Just joined this board as it has the most comprehensive amount of info sharing from users and experts I could find on the net. Me personally I am from Australia.

I just picked up a 4WD Di-D ASX 2.2L Turbo Diesel (closer to 2.3L actually) and have a few questions. I got the car with cloth trim and a non-GPS head unit/stereo.

I have seen wreckers around the area sell full leather interiors out of wrecked ASX's, my first question is, if I purchase the leather seats, will my ASX have the wiring necessary for the heated seats and electronic adjustments to function? I guess what I am asking is is all the wiring under the seat and simply not connected? If so, will they need to be activated on the ETACS?

My second question is in regards to the GPS head unit. Again if I pick up the unit with all antennas and modules, etc will all functions work? bluetooth steering wheel buttons, voice activation, volume, skip, etc? WIll I need to activate this at the ETACS?

Thanks for your help

Me personally have owned 2 other mitsubishi's previous, a 3.8L V6 FWD 380 VRX (galant in the US) and an Evo VII that I spent lots of money on that was pushing out just over 300KW at the motor

Cheers

I assume u r from australia?
Heated seat do not need to activate from etacs.
However do check if the wiring are available first. It should be located under ur seat. the yellow wire is for airbag. The two pin is for seatbelt warning. If u see additional wiring other than that. It is for heated seat or power seat

Hey yeah I'm in Australia

Just checked and have additional 2 plugs not plugged into anything. Picture attached.

Would you know about the GPS Nav units? Would I need to do anything with ETACS if I get an updated models and would all the steering wheel controls work?

Black 4 pin is for heated seat. U will need the switch as well.
The other 2 pin is for power seat.

Yes. U need to enable from the ETACS for the satnav to prevent error reported from the etacs. (its okay to have the error. it wont show anyhow. Juz go to the dealer to set the SATNAV to available when u go for service)

Hey mate. I just installed full leather seats and can confirm all functions work as they should. The switch for the heated seats is actually part of the seat itself. All I needed to get was a new relay for the heated seats. Thanks for your help
