It's nice to know that the Asx is one of the top 4 suvs in Malaysia. I'm amazed the ASX got picked over the crv, Tucson and ford kuga! We are beating even the mainstream brands!

I tried all formats already. Used converter so many times. The answer is none. Only mp3 is supported on usb. To play videos on the screen you need to burn your videos onto a dvd in dvd format.

You can also only view the dvds when your hand brake is engaged. Of course you can ask the mechanic to disable the cable but it's illegal haha.

Yah, is easy to disable, just remove the gearbox and the handrest cover then just unscrew the cable and screw into the earth nut just in front of the hand break. thats it. Note: please remember to put back when you sending for player warranty if any.

Yes, I can confirm. I tried mp4, mpg, avi videos via USB, all cannot. Its such a shame to have a large 8" screen display but cant play video files. Anyway, I was browsing through the manual and I read that it can play video via USB, but have to use the AUX and media link connector. Anyone know how to do this?

"Gearbox and handrest cover"....meaning have to remove the cover from the gear stick to the handrest storage box cover? By the way, are there many cables under there cover? I dont want to accidentally unscrew the wrong cable by mistake.

Thanks for this useful info. According to the site, the ASX headunit can in fact play avi and mpg from USB:

http://www.flyaudio.net/product_id.asp?id=356&xid=5#

That means for our CKD headunit, it must have been disabled via software or something. I wonder if there is a way to enable the video playback via USB on our headunit. hmm.gif

I contacted flyaudio malaysia and asked if the CKD ASX's HU can play videos files from USB or not (because their website says that it can). I'm afraid, confirmed cannot. Flyaudio said the CKD ASX's HU is specially customized to Mitsubishi using a new platform, which cannot play videos from USB, whereas the ASX HU in the flyaudio website is the older platform which can play videos. That's quite disappointing.

How do you connect? Do you need to cut any wiring or there is a ready socket?
