Hey Dan... any price changes on your GTCs? biggrin.gif Considering coming back with my Raven (or did I give that back to Dice Macross already LOL hmm I think I used my 100mil to buy the ship from our dear CEO before I quit.)

Edit: Oh, Uncle Red, if I come back to EVE, can I join your forces of doom? biggrin.gif

well as far as CCP is concern. Scam is one type of role playing accepted by CCP for eve players can do. so if u fall for it, it is indeed because your stupidity and trust to unknown person. nothing more can describe it.

since contract can do wonders in trading item in eve-universe. force any trading u involve using that system. its there for a reason and as far as i'm concern, its much better than the stupid old escrow that easily confused buyers.

about gtc. although i know its a work and tested system that many relies on. but its not a secure process to work on. ask anybody that use that system that works and follow it.  but i will never resort to it since i still able to pay my monthly fees.

some and foremost lesson on life and eve:

don't be greedy.
don't trust anybody even me.
if there's something too good to be true, check it thoroughly.

Testing passive tanking Rokh at the moment in SiSi, when active tanking didn't work very well...

Active Tanking: Not enough cap for shield booster (X-Large II one la, I where got ISK for a rat one)

Passive Tanking: Not enough cap for Large Rails I. WTH...

If only someone can gang me with her/his Logistic Ship... hmmm...

The active is from Tranquality, so no rigs.

SiSi Rokh setup:
8x 425mm Railgun I <--- Maybe need to try named rails to reduce cap usage, but this is needed to simulate my... errr... lack of ISK in TQ.

3x Large Shield Extender II
2x Shield Recharger II
1x Tracking Computer II

4x Shield Power Relay II <--- This one killed the cap
1x Power Diagnostic System II <--- Need powergrid to fit the rails

3x Core Defence Field Purger I <--- Edit: Oops. It's not CCC

Tried on level 4 The Assault. Battle report not available.

Alternatively, to improve the cap but still fail and worse shield regen than the above setup:
3x Shield Power Relay II
2x Power Diagnostic System II

Some news about EVE's future:

MMOG-WELTEN - Interview: EVE Online

QUOTE
OnlineWelten: CCP continues developing new content and, hard to believe, it's all for free. Two updates are eagerly-awaited. When can we expect Revelations Part 2 and the new graphic engine? Can you also explain in a few words the modifications coming up with those updates?

Noah "Hammerhead" Ward: We're just pushing Revelations 1.4 out the door now. We've got 2.0 slated for release sometime this summer. Kali 3.0 should be out before the end of the year and the graphics upgrade should be early 2008. Revelations Part 2 is all about warfare and player infrastructure and lays the groundwork for Factional Warfare. We're adding victory conditions, constellation sovereignty, medals and many other features which benefit the gameplay that revolves around warfare in 2.0. As for the graphics upgrade; it's moving along nicely. All of the ships in the game have been remodeled in HiRes. We're finishing up the final texturing now. The next task is modeling all of the other "stuff" in game like the space stations, stargates and starbase modules. It would be awkward to release the high resolution ships and have them flying next to low resolution space stations.
QA > Start saving your RM for a new graphic card for the new EVE graphic!

QUOTE
OnlineWelten: Space stations, which can be entered by the players, will be added soon. Please tell us, what we can do in such a station?

Noah "Hammerhead" Ward: We're going to start small and build from there. Initially we want to improve the social and roleplaying aspects of the game with this feature. Inside stations will be the places where players can meet to relax, to recruit new corp members or to plan their next attack on the enemy. Each station will have a common area we call the promenade. From there, players will be able to access their ship hangars, corporate recruitment offices, private corporate back offices, casinos, bars and player-run shops. Players will also finally be able to meet their agents face to face.

QUOTE
OnlineWelten: A couple of month before there was a discussion about the possibility of formation flights. Do you still have plans about this idea and can you give us more details?

Noah "Hammerhead" Ward: It's still somewhere on the drawing board. We'd like to introduce formation flight at the same time we introduce precision warping. Precision warping is the ability not only to designate the distance from your warp destination, but to also designate your location in 3D space. You could land "above" your target, for instance. Then we would add to that the ability of the fleet commander to set a formation and the gang would come out of warp in that formation. Different formations would have different drawbacks to go along with the advantages.

QUOTE
OnlineWelten: Will you implement level 5 missions?

Noah "Hammerhead" Ward: It's funny you should mention that because level 5 and level 6 missions are on the schedule for Revelations 2.0. Level 5 and 6 missions will only be offered in low security space. Level 5 missions will also be too difficult to solo with level 6 missions being the type of thing a big gang of players does on a weekend . We're introducing new gang mechanics to allow gang members to share all mission rewards (loyalty points, faction standing, ISK).

Our hope is that as mission runners gang up to tackle the more difficult content they will be better protected from ganking than they would have been if they were running missions solo. We realize the current system doesn't promote grouping in missions and we want to get away from that. Another thing that level 5 and 6 missions bring to the table is capital ship NPCs and allowing players to pilot capital ships in missions.

Imagine a mission where Mininela Erinen, CEO if the Caldari Navy, is in a Wyvern, Toras Egassuo and Kaiko Maina are in Phoenixes and they have a fleet of other Caldari Navy ships inside Gallente space. Anvent Eturrer, CEO of the Federation Navy, has contracted you to eliminate this threat to the Gallente Federation. This is the type of thing we're planning for level 6 missions. You will take big standings hits towards the enemy but you will ingratiate yourself with the faction you're working for.

QUOTE
OnlineWelten: Please tell us about your ideas for the distant future of Eve Online?

Noah "Hammerhead" Ward: We want to create a living, breathing world. We want EVE to be completely open-ended where players can do anything they can imagine. We want players to be able to do anything from building a small homestead on a remote planet in an unpopulated solar system to building empires and controlling fleets of thousands of ships taking over vast regions of space, plundering the resources that are ripe for the taking. The future is all about adding more options for players; more places to explore, more technologies to discover, more ways to interact with other players and of course bigger guns. We're also going to keep upgrading everything along the way.
QA > Yay, finally a home to call a home smile.gif

MINING FEVER NIGHT! rclxm9.gif

Time based distribution is a good idea, since MACX. Latecomers will never be too late to join and anybody can leave the ops earlier. We can distribute the minerals itself and/or buy from each other.
To make mining ops work, the Hulk Miners or heavy contributing Miners have to be open-minded about sharing their effort. If not, bring a lesser mining ship, I don't mind.
Also note that Haulers are doing an equally important job as the Miners.
And may need a combat ship to deter ore thieves, and relieving the Miners of using combat drones instead of mining drones to counter roid rats.

Or include incentives for the heavy contributing Miners, like an extra percentage of the share of minerals, 5%, 10%, etc.

And a little something to share and add heat to the mining fever, it's an Excel file for calculating mining yield for Osprey, Rokh, Retriever, Covetor, Hulk, and a spare entry for other ship.
Yeah, very sure, no virus tongue.gif

Welcome to EVE, celciuz.

hehe... Horney...

For anyone interested about the walking in station features, better termed as EVE Ambulation:
EVE Ambulation (aka Full Body Avatar) Discussion
QUOTE(CCP Kieron)
There are a number of threads that have cropped up discussing the Ambulation trailer from the Game Developer's Conference spotlighted by those fine folks over at Ten Ton Hammer. In an effort to consolidate the discussion into one thread (and prevent any "OMG, not another thread!" replies, of which I am sure someone will say the same to me ), I'm posting and stickying this thread.

In regards to the video itself, here's a sequence of events. The room where the video starts with the Amarr female and Caldari male is a map room. One of a number of functions will be that of a 'war room', where corporation officers will be able to use the map as a sort of white board for planning attacks.

There is a hallway with a nice water effect to the sides of the pathway.

The second room (or third scene) is a meeting chamber. Depending on corporation resources and the type of station (among other factors), the decor can be changed. You could consider the Gallente female a corporation recruiter in this shot.

There is another hallway transitioning to the docking bay. The docking bay itself is designed with an eye at trying to give the scope of just how big EVE ships are.

After boarding the ship (an off-screen event in the video), the Zealot leaves the station and you can see the increased detail on the surface of the station. There have been some recent Dev Blogs with static images, now you can see one in the EVE environment.

Other information: Those players that do not wish to interact with the full-body avatar aspect of the game will not be forced to do so, a la the now defunct Earth & Beyond and their station interface. In-station servers will be seperate from the space servers, so there will be little (if any) lag introduced into the other environment. A high quality download will be available in the future, no time frame as of yet.

Enjoy!

Best reply I ever seen smile.gif
Just so long as you will not allow Full Body avatars to, Jump, Dance or Run all will be right in the world.

The last thing anyone wants to see is a 100 docked POD pilots, the "Rock Stars" of EVE running and jumping to the war room.

"We're going to WAR!!!"

"Quick Johnson! To the War ROOM!!!"

Run, Run, Bounce, Bounce, Bump, Run, Bounce, Run, Run... LOLOMG!!!!!!11ojne
Hehe... something Horney'll do when there's war...

Hmm, why not you guys start to built a new malaysian/singaporean eve-related forum and start pulling ppl to discuss more eve related stuff.

Would probably pull more gamers to it, than having everything here messed-up into 1 thread.
*
Nah, LYN's forum is just fine.

When to get a dedicated forum is when we're in a corp, a big corp, preferably a corp with shared interests, i.e. missioning, mining, PvP, and of course the all famous Miscellaneous.
Also to effectively pass informations around, corp and alliance EVE mail is better to catch people's attention although it's very messy tongue.gif
Then it's safe to assume only 20% from corp/channel will be active in forum. At times you'll feel the forum is like a ghost town hehe

Besides, we can divert to other interests forum in LYN when this forum is half-dead tongue.gif
Any informations you want, you are welcomed to scrounge through 123 pages of this thread where 99% of it is consisted of spams sign0014.gif tongue.gif (See previous post)

EVE racial jokes smile.gif

EVE Forum: Racial Statistics

QUOTE
Just look at the race sheets at the character creator.

There's Gallente ... hhhmmm ... super-ghay.
Amarr ... they only laugh once a year. Once. Between two yawns.
Minmatar ... kinda dirty, sloppy and ... ouch! Yikes! Slaves! Very attractive.

And then there's the real cool ones ...

The only thing Caldarians really suck is fashion.

QUOTE
I think it's mostly because of the race descriptions.

Caldari: hard-working and patriotic
Amarr: religious nutjobs
Minmatar: primitive slaves
Gallente: just French

QUOTE
I think we really need to summarize the races better on the char creation screen

Caldari: Goosestepping, square jawed German Ubermensch

Amarr: Remember the inquisition? They didnt go far enough

Gallente: Cheese-Eating surrender monkeys with the prettiest nukes, wearing tranparent clothing. Oh, dont forget the Intaki, we're Buddhist Gypsy Mafiosi

Minmatar: African Vikings; no, we're serious!

Public Service Announcements

Hear ye! Hear ye!

First, it's possible to scam using the Trade Window. You have been warned, especially you Shaff tongue.gif:
EVE Insider: How to scam billions effortlessly using lag; ITS NOT AN EXPLOIT!
QUOTE(Dark Shikari)
Want to be able to magically take your ISK out of a trade window and let the other person accept without seeing what you did? Its not an exploit, according to the Senior GMs, so I will post the full details here! Have fun; it is completely impossible to avoid the scam unless the victim knows specifically what the scam is and doesn't use the trade window, or uses it in a specific manner to avoid it!

1. Go to a laggy trade hub system. Jita, Motsu, Saila, anything works. It can't be too laggy; marginally laggy is enough. Not like its hard at all to find a decently laggy system.

2. Watch local. There will invariably be someone selling valuable items, in fact, there will probably be a lot of people.

3. Convo someone selling something. Make sure you're in the "hub station" of the system so they can trade you.

4. Make an offer for it. When they say yes, open a trade window they'll put in the item. Wait a little bit, and put in the money. Say "Accept".

5. Remove the money as soon as possible after saying "accept." If you screw up, you either get the item for a reasonable price (ohnos) or you have to convo the next person.

6. If the system is laggy, the other player WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SEE that the money has been removed until after they click accept! The delay is too long for their screen to update in time... and bam, you got their item for free!

The trick is that you remove the money before they click accept, but they don't see the change in the money until after they click accept. This isn't hard at all to do with the kind of lag present these days throughout EVE. The result is that the person clicks accept to Trade A, but actually agrees to Trade B, which is not the same as Trade A (in particular, with the ISK removed).

Repeat as necessary until CCP realizes that their trade system as currently made is completely useless and miserably exploitable. Isn't it fun to scam when your victim never even sees the scam until after they accept what appears to be a perfectly valid trade? biggrin.gif

Summarized from the link below (one of many complain threads). After the patch (forgot which one) where Freighters will drop loots like other ships, opportunistic pilots are on the move. Freighters have been ganked in empire spaces, 4 known cases. At least 14 BSes are used in the ganking. The ship of choice? Dominixes (let's grab our pitchforks and torches and burn down Dan's domi!). Apparently, while Concord jammed the aggressors, their drones are not and will continue to attack the victim. The victim denied as being an alt to some alliance, and it's a funny business that D2 resorted to empire space piracy.
EVE Insider: This is the end of trade in empire as we know it
QUOTE(Dolika)
It started at:
[ 2007.05.04 18:39:07 ] (combat) <color=0xffbb6600>Pinsel [CE]<D2> hits you, doing 76.9 damage.

and ended a mere 38 seconds later:

[ 2007.05.04 18:39:45 ] (combat) <color=0xffbb6600>Ogre II belonging to Littlebird places an excellent hit on you, inflicting 250.7 damage.

that's how long it took 14 Dominixes to chew through a freighter.
