well, I heard of Mcintosh, but the price make me stop shocking.gif
*
its not necessary to get to Mcintosh or any super high end per se....

they do have high power amps.....but their mainstream is still within normal power range

in hifi....its not only the amps and speakers are important

basic fundamentals are important; ie

1. power source
2. your source component outputs
3. interconnects
4. equipment vibration grounding
5. synergy grounding
6. 1st order reflections
7. any frequency cancellations

and there are many more to a proper setup

room is also a big factor

expensive doesn't mean its forgiving to setup
the higher end the equipment, the less tolerance to acoustic errors.....

its a journey to get there.....

from the looks of it (if you don't mind me being honest), the speakers are a bit too near the rear wall

and putting the speakers on the table as oppose to a proper stand.....the impact is quite great
a sub would help in your scenario...but you need to be wary of the sub pace, low pass frequency and high pass frequency roll offs....it might bring your music to a slow down pace....

perhaps an 8" sub might be sufficient
*
No worries, be vicious on the comments if you want. So things to do to improve on my acoustics right now are:
1. Add distance from rear wall to speaker.
2. Get a proper stand.

Because starting sub pace I dont understand a single thing after that. sweat.gif To google I go!

Don't worry...all us amp heads talk in riddles. Sub pace means how fast the sound comes out from the subwoofer as compared to your main speakers. You don't want a noticeable gap between what your main speakers are blaring out and your subwoofer catching up half a second later. 2ndly, low pass n high pass frequencies are what their respective name implies but these are merely filters to filter out unwanted frequencies. You should be more worried about the phase.

Hi all sifus, i wanna start to get into this speakers world and ditch the basic pc speakers.
i have a budget of 2k only and i want a system that focus on musics only (i am not a fan of movie).
i listen more of instrumental songs, soundtracks, vocal songs, normal bass requirement..
any recommendation?

Alright. thumbup.gif This is the IO for a sub right? Do you have any recommendation for a 8 inch sub that will work with the d1080 and under rm400?

Hmm, tube got a cycle for "mood", lifespan is pretty troublesome for me to maintain, so I still prefer solid state integrated amp, currently using PM6005, the Wharfedale Denton getting better with it whistling.gif , next year will aim for amp with power around 100watts, sth like Rotel or Arcam?  brows.gif
*
I have only heard Denton pairing with PM6004 in KLIAV, still not enough juice for Denton brows.gif

I think 2k for the entire system is impossible sad.gif
But I have limited budget. Will I be able to upgrade the configuration in the future if I only get the speakers only?

Get the PM8005 instead. 70W into 8 ohms compared to 45W for the PM6005.
Or get the Marantz PM11S3 (100W) or better still get the PassLabs X350.5 or XS300 whistling.gif

Wouldn't have a clue cos I already have 2 amps and not looking at Marantz anymore.
Ask me how much my next target is (PassLabs XS150) and I can tell you

Of Course!!! Start small and upgrade along the way. A few years later and you'd have replaced entirely your original setup. Amps, Speakers, Cables, Interconnects, Power Cables, Conditioners, Stands, Feet etc.

Pokai Betul. Ask Hushymushy about his soundproofing (hee...hee...)

Tell you what...even if the price of the PassLabs won't kill you, the bloody heat sinks at the sides will.
If my guess is correct, I think the PM8005 will cost around MYR5K whereas the PM11S3 will cost around MYR20K
Wait around a bit and hopefully these prices will drop a bit. Marantz not cheap these days

My preference is Dynaudio (made in Denmark, not China). Checkout CMY's shop in Sg. Wang and audition the models they have there.
