i've heard them before.....no doubt their big and powerful....but somewhat slow

I agree but Aida costs RM275 ler. Was thinking maybe Lilium would suffice. If I get Aida, need to get Passlabs XS300 whereas if I get Lilium, I can get away with XS150

BTW, my Valhallas 2 are still somewhere else rather than here in Malaysia. Gonna strangle Alvin when I get a chance to see him. That's why I might not even get the Passlabs from him. Besok Lusa mentality.

my transparents took almost 10 weeks to arrive
i emailed transparent directly and they replied me saying hand made cables take time

passlabs i hv to admit it is musical
maybe not my preference kua.....

if i had that sort of money....i will consider goldmund, fm acoustic or mark & levinson

if you get d Aidas.....i think goldmund is a better option

I know the Val2 are hand made to order and I know that Alvin knows about it as well. And as an experienced sales rep I am certain that he knows exactly how long it will take to make it and to send it over and how much contingency time to add in to it all. It was supposed to reach me two weeks ago and now he tells me it will need a minimum another two weeks (that was last week). I called up again today and he "promised" me that it will be here under 8 days.

The thing is that I am pissed off because I have to call Alvin up every time to chase for it. I really don't care if it is a few weeks late but he could have called me up as a courtesy to inform me instead of me having to chase him every time. The Val2 is not cheap and added to the fact that Alvin also knows that I might also want him to get those Passlabs for me, he sure is treating me like shit. Sometimes I wonder how he treats those who can't afford to purchase his items.

Goldmund is a maybe but I need to find another place to buy them from. I had a Mark Levinson 25+ years ago. Model No.7. Good amp I bought dirt cheap but never realised its potential because I never had the money to get a pair of good speakers. Perhaps that is why I am making up for past "incapabilities" now that I can afford it.

How well will Burmester partners with SF?

well my experience dealing with him was different....not very sure what happened in between you two.....

I'll let you know what happened on the day I bought the Val2. Initially he said he will loan me his Val2 but after I paid up the next day he asked me if I can wait for my cables to arrive instead cos I might "scratch" his Val2 when I plug it into my speakers and that will devalue it. He said that he will express my order and will take max 3 weeks to get here. It has been more than a month now and still no cables in sight.

I am a very easy going person and perhaps that is why people tend to take advantage of me but that doesn't mean I don't know or realize it. It is just that life is too short to worry about inconsequential things and people. However, saying that, the individual that takes advantage of my easy going manner is only going to be able to do so once as I will refuse to deal with that same individual again.

Alvin is not too bright in this matter as I am really considering getting the Lilium and the Passlab XS pre and power amps from him. The grand amount would have exceeded 450K. Closer to 500K as I will need another 2 Val2 interconnects as well.

Ah well, I am certain that there are lots of other audio equipment sellers in KL.

Well all i can say is too bad this happened.

Finally got the V2 cables. Bit stiff though. Had a bit of a struggle connecting them up.

Ordered banana plugs but got spades instead but didn't have the breath to argue anymore or the patience to wait for a replacement no longer.

Great sales pitch but lousy follow up.

Perfect Hifi? I think not.

Congrats on the new cables.
Spades is a good thing as u can control how tight u wanna lock it(preferably juz tight but not overtighten at binding post as it causes stress, will sound different).
Banana plug even though is easier, at times the binding post can be loosen or lost its grip.

actually spades will go a long way for amps and speakers

somehow....i also noticed some amps doesn't allow banana connectors
happened to me during the first time i bought audio research amps
only to find out the speaker outputs doesn't take bananas

anyway.....spades are more advantages in actual fact

But it doesn't detract from the fact he ordered A and got B instead. Even though i like to use spades as well.

Ya lor. Ordered banana plugs cos the V2 cables are quite stiff and will use it specifically for the Krell setup only. Now using spades which bends the cable unless I elevate the amp. However, the matter of fact remains that I ordered A and got B instead.

How does it sound now? Still hazy cos I have about 1 hour on it only and my speakers still not run in yet. Hope it will tighten the bass up more later after 50 hours or so. Even the treble still not as crisp as I like it.

The frigging cables are actually quite heavy. The large wooden box that came with it is even more heavier. However, there wasn't a serial number on the warranty card as I would have expected.

hhmmmm now it makes me think twice of buying my home theatre setup from them
planning to have a simple ht setup with projector and 5.1 setup

GI Jie....i'm not sure about valhalla cables
but my experience with other cables such as XLO, Chord, Transparent....and even entry level wireworld that i use in my car......these cables need about 200 hours of playing
and i actually still don't understand why the sound changes as time progresses

i even bought a pair of custom made Gotham XLR interconnects.....and it still take 100 hours to burn in....did a couple of serious audition within the first 100 hours with a few friends and everyone agreed the cable sound changed significantly

by the way.....the nordost powercables i bought didn't have serial number on the warranty card......and i saw that the warranty card is like pre printed for all nordost
my cousin bought from singapore also same thing....and verified with nordost they actually replied yes.....its not pre printed....

Hushymushy, don't let me influence you as Alvin (from Perfect Hifi for those who don't know) might be different when he is serving you. All I can state here is how he served me which does not automatically imply that he will do the same to other clients. One thing though...did you realise that Alvin always had this capacity to say that your setup is wrong whereas he has "another" better solution and that he can "assist" you in this undertaking? I know...sales pitch and all but it drives you up the wall, eh?

Ya...200 hours or more which means that my setup will sound mediocre from now till mid 2015 or even later in the year cos I don't play them much. Hahaha.

BTW, how much did you pay for your Nordost powercords?
