Lol because it wasn't crystallined yet when passenger complained.

They complained mostly when aircon auto-stop at traffic light. This is how I answer them:

"oh well this is avoidable by putting to P gear. But I purposely let the engine auto-stop, so that you all won't keep asking me to drive you guys out for lunch I gotnused to the heat already. smile.gif"

Haha, anyway, in a joking way.

From my interpretation on the comments in autoworld, majority of the commentor are not Insight owners and their comments are quite blunt with no actual facts.

There are comments that Insight is not for those who want to save money!?
If want to save money, drive DIESEL car. Haha..

Ultimately, check with Insight owner, and ask them the FC and how much it save their money.
My ride FC is approximately 18-20km/l, which I dun think City, Vios, Civic, Altis can deliver. Correct me if Im wrong.
*
I'm using Vios for 6 year and I can ride about 550km with RM70.00per tank... (expressway 80Km/h ~ 90km/h, highway 120km/h ~ 140km/h with 650km one tank).

I will update when my Insight arrive.

Indeed, the insight is kinda rough drive. Two times of services including tyre pressure checking yet it's normal.

I'm comparing this car with vios (same age as insight). Insight appears to be more bumpy obviously.

Well, after two services, 6k+ mileage, I'm reaching 30% of the 3rd level leaf. Notnsute if this is a good one.

Hi can I check with Insight Black owner...Do you feel hot inside the car when you park under the sun or shaded place?
*
yup i do... even-though i have tinted 8mm. Anyway just open window few minutes when u drive, let the hot air goes out. Compare to other cars, the air-cond has good flow system, it takes short time to cool down the car. rclxms.gif

Does it mean average fuel consumption for Insight is 16-18 km/l only? Mean I am normal, it's not car problem or my driving style.

Definitely. smile.gif

Thus I peeled off my cipalak tint and got myself crystalline. Though there's still heat coming in sometimes.

Rear passengers always complain no aircon while  I have to increase
Fan level to 4th at least.
*
I think due to amount and size of glasses at the rear, if there is no good tint the rear passengers will definitely feel hot

Yesterday Range shown 494 after curising 226km. Meaning in total, approx 720km for full tank.

But I speed 130-150km/h this morning all the way to KL and back to PJ. The total range has dropped tremendously. Total range down to 622km. Cruised 322km and remaining 300km.

Hi all,

First of all, I don't own any Hybrid, but my friends does – both insight and Prius. I have to admit that I'm a fan of Prius simply because it's an icon or representation of 'Hybrid'.  thumbup.gif when you mentioned a hybrid car, chances are the 1st car came to people's mind is Toyota Prius, even Hollywood movies use Priuses.

Anyway, I'm not here to say Prius is better than insight then just run away. In fact, if I were to choose between these 2 cars, I would go for an insight. Why? it's because insight is a very simple car, the idea, the design, bla bla bla... I think that's why the design and engineering is not same as Prius.

After a few rounds behind both wheels (insight & Prius) on long distance drives, I found that prius is a great car to be in, but you will have to try very hard and get-use-to to really save fuel. Unlike Prius, Insight is so simple that you don't have much choice apart from just drive with ECON on/off, S here, D there and it works. I does save more fuel compare to Honda City driving under the same condition nod.gif

With Prius, you really have to be gentle on the gas to yield better mileage or be hard to just go fast. Yes, similar goes to insight. But I must say that, for Prius, it became annoying when sometimes you just want to drive like normal but often you will feel that there's not enough power to go up a slope (because the car think that you are in 'eco' mode and try to conserve the energy for you) and when you want to go fast, it will take a while before you can feel the throttle (the delay is quite bad).

I'm not very good at describing these 2 cars, but if you draw a line with fuel saving in 1 end and going fast or response in the other, Prius has got longer line at both ends, and it's the longer line that annoyed me. This is the factor that makes me think insight is a simple car and I love the simplicity of it  thumbup.gif It's a bit like a DSLR and a point & Shot camera case, sometime i don't need a DSLR to do the job wink.gif

Sorry for the looong reply, GTG, bosses are around  sweat.gif

So comparing those facts with 41k different price tag, everybody knows the answer of which hybrid better.

I saw toyota/ prius fan also in that insight forum try to down insight and said prius better bla bla.
Maybe they're toyota salesmen trying to get some sales for that expensive prius.

We all know Prius not worth a penny here....

just to share a forum from autoworld.com.my on honda insight.
many positive and negative comments in there.

http://forum.autoworld.com.my/index.php?sh...ic=96790&st=240
after reading the comments from auto world forum, this got me thinking, should I cancel my booking? is kinda scary seems like so many ppl dislike it and what insight is achieving, allot of cars can achieved too. so.......
sigh.....
*
U can find that conclusion only if u have own the insight, gone through same route, and do calculative comparison.

Buying the Insight, u contribute to less emission and saving the environment.

Cancel your booking and u just contribute to reduce waiting time for others.

Both also good deed. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

STOP about Hybrid war between Honda & Toyota la

as for me Insight is suit for me already, althought fuel not as save as prius & price different Rm40k, so u think can get Rm40k back for fuel save? if 20k different maybe i will choose prius too

there are few type of people:

if you think that u rich enough than buy prius la, all people also got money decision in our side, dont complaint this that.
previously my family got a merc E240 i can tell u that not comfortable to drive with Rm300k price

sometime not cheap thing is bad & not expensive thing is good

i have drive alot of car the ovarall best car is Hyundai Starex just Rm140k can pick 12 people with Rm0.13-Rm0.15/km no one can beat the torque of this car. sure alot people say Hyundai SXXK car or Buffalo Starex.

Stop this Stupid war la

OK no war, just my own experience after a very extensive drive of the Insight.

My first reaction was that the steering on the Insight was actually pretty good, much better than the very imprecise and disconnected feel of the current Honda City. The start/stop feature is also cool although it doesn't work well with my style of driving (driving with both feet). I find that I step on the accelerator to quickly and there's always a jerk as the engine turns on, revs up and the gear suddenly engages.

Performance was adequate, I was expecting a bit more I guess with the motor assist and all but I found that performance on the highway is just ok, on par with a 1.5l City.

Overall a good car. Too bad it's a bit too small for what I need.
