Anyone else having the same thing? Else I will report a problem for my coming 1st 1,000km check up.

today @ my office carpark, so funny - as i was walking to my car going out for lunch, got one group of guys/girls crowding around my car look here look there... thought WTF... someone banged me!

rush over, then realized they have never seen hybrid before (betui2 sua ku haha)... spent the next 15 mins patiently explaining how hybrid engine works, what's the avg FC and running costs + features of this magnificent CBU.

think after work, some of them sure rush to Honda showroom to see. too bad no more showroom units on display. hmmm.. i should ask H start H Ambassador Program, and earn commission smile.gif

That is not my car actually, I just use a photo and circled that zone, wanna ask Insightians to check if theirs have such white powdery substance on their engines or not? Is quite obvious one, like some sort of burst gas or splashes but its dry powdery white substance.

sleep.gif' someone is taking things personally... hahaha.

Anyway, I'll still standby what I said, we all know this happens when we buy a new car, you'll get depreciated 10-20% within 1st year, of course, the only reason being the shortage right now that may give you a better bargain chip, but not to the point of 90k+ as you initially wondered..

I dont know what you so surprised for.

1st year, it depreciates the most, then only 2nd year onwards, it depreciates less, not as u say 1st year 20%, 2nd year, 30,40% and 3rd year 60%

I dont know if you're being ironic or if you really don't know car drops the most in the first year.

"CT200H 30-40% a year? Then i wait until January 2012 lah, can save 60-80k man!!! Thanks!!! "

And what you said doesn't make sense also since you buying new car.
the depreciation only for used car if you want to sell...

Since we talk Lexus, I get some figures...

Retail price IS250 Luxury 305,000.00 (Exclude insurance)

From motor trader, 1 year old car, 2 sellers selling at

269000/305000 = 88% = 12% drop (Didn't specify how old)
228800/305000 = 75% = 25% drop (10 months car)

Anyway, off topic, so i'll leave this as it is...

I only will discuss with him.. hehe.. price doesn't matter if condition if new. But I have to think about it would be 3rd hand if I want to sell it, so depreciation must happen.

I was just asking a simple question, I have not decided whether to sell or not, but you, eltaria, immediately PM me and said "if you sell at 80K i may consider" and this really irritate me. You want a honda insight, and try your luck see if you can get mine for 80K or not, when I said wont let go for less than 90K then you start your depreciation theory, 20% la, this la, that la.....You think we really don't know car will depreciate? You cant tell if my reply is of ironic?

Next time when you want to buy something and your offer cant meet seller's asking price, end it there. Do not educate seller this, that and what not.

Demand>Supply. Even in the US the 2nd hand value for Hybrid cars or more specifically Insight are increasing due to the high demand and almost zero supply + increasing fuel prices.

Now back to topic please smile.gif

of coz of the value of reselling in amount.

i believe someone has mentioned on the depreciated value. for 1st year, definately is the most highest. if you still recall on the account during your education, you may know the depreciation of every year is different.

something you may need to concern if you sell your car less than a year:

IF
* Loan: RM 80,000
* Interest rate: 2.5% per annum
* Duration: 5-years
* Down payment: RM 18,000
* Total Loan + Interest need to settle: RM 90,000 while mthly installment is RM 1,500/month

- If you sell your car at RM 87,000 after used 2-months, you will lose RM 18,000 straight away.

I think you may need to concern on the interest rate for used car. Better check with the bank on it 1st.

Thing u may need to concern:

IF
* Buy from HAPPYMAN at RM 92,000
* Loan: RM 80,000
* Interest rate: 4.25% per annum
* Duration: 5-years
- Total loan + interest is RM 97,000 & monthly settlement is RM 1,616.65

Seller has the right to set any selling price (regardless follow market rate or not) and the buyer has the right to make decision to buy according to the selling price.

If the seller and buyer cannot come to an agreement, full stop and life moves on.

i think ur calculation is not correct. full settlement for loan will definitely lesser than rm90,000. probably abt rm8200 at most, becos u do get rebate if u settle earlier. wink.gif

Wrong calculation limbryan.

I don't want to go any further because it will be endless.

You find it out yourself, ok?
