QUOTE(infinitium @ May 12 2011, 03:24 PM) That is not my car actually, I just use a photo and circled that zone, wanna ask Insightians to check if theirs have such white powdery substance on their engines or not? Is quite obvious one, like some sort of burst gas or splashes but its dry powdery white substance. |

Anyway, I'll still standby what I said, we all know this happens when we buy a new car, you'll get depreciated 10-20% within 1st year, of course, the only reason being the shortage right now that may give you a better bargain chip, but not to the point of 90k+ as you initially wondered.. I dont know what you so surprised for. 1st year, it depreciates the most, then only 2nd year onwards, it depreciates less, not as u say 1st year 20%, 2nd year, 30,40% and 3rd year 60% I dont know if you're being ironic or if you really don't know car drops the most in the first year. "CT200H 30-40% a year? Then i wait until January 2012 lah, can save 60-80k man!!! Thanks!!! " And what you said doesn't make sense also since you buying new car. the depreciation only for used car if you want to sell... Since we talk Lexus, I get some figures... Retail price IS250 Luxury 305,000.00 (Exclude insurance) From motor trader, 1 year old car, 2 sellers selling at 269000/305000 = 88% = 12% drop (Didn't specify how old) 228800/305000 = 75% = 25% drop (10 months car) Anyway, off topic, so i'll leave this as it is... Demand>Supply. Even in the US the 2nd hand value for Hybrid cars or more specifically Insight are increasing due to the high demand and almost zero supply + increasing fuel prices.

QUOTE(Happyman @ May 12 2011, 04:56 PM) You mean the amount or %? of coz of the value of reselling in amount. Insight already 20% a year. CT200H 30-40% a year? Then i wait until January 2012 lah, can save 60-80k man!!! Thanks!!! i believe someone has mentioned on the depreciated value. for 1st year, definately is the most highest. if you still recall on the account during your education, you may know the depreciation of every year is different. something you may need to concern if you sell your car less than a year: IF * Loan: RM 80,000 * Interest rate: 2.5% per annum * Duration: 5-years * Down payment: RM 18,000 * Total Loan + Interest need to settle: RM 90,000 while mthly installment is RM 1,500/month - If you sell your car at RM 87,000 after used 2-months, you will lose RM 18,000 straight away. Seller has the right to set any selling price (regardless follow market rate or not) and the buyer has the right to make decision to buy according to the selling price.
If the seller and buyer cannot come to an agreement, full stop and life moves on. |

QUOTE(limbryan @ May 12 2011, 06:17 PM) of coz of the value of reselling in amount. i think ur calculation is not correct. full settlement for loan will definitely lesser than rm90,000. probably abt rm8200 at most, becos u do get rebate if u settle earlier. i believe someone has mentioned on the depreciated value. for 1st year, definately is the most highest. if you still recall on the account during your education, you may know the depreciation of every year is different. something you may need to concern if you sell your car less than a year: IF * Loan: RM 80,000 * Interest rate: 2.5% per annum * Duration: 5-years * Down payment: RM 18,000 * Total Loan + Interest need to settle: RM 90,000 while mthly installment is RM 1,500/month - If you sell your car at RM 87,000 after used 2-months, you will lose RM 18,000 straight away. |
