I visited his bathroom, toilet, washroom. Switch on the pump. Notice no visible storage heater or any heater mode. Just a water switch (Hot and cold) on water tap controller . Purposely switch to hot and water became hot. What method he use ? Asked him and he said pump build it blah2.

Hi

my friend's house has a Grundfos CH4-40 water pump. when on, the wall vibrate (due to water piper in the wall)....

i think the pressure too strong. suggest that he downgrade the water pump. already he had a >4 cases of burst water pipes (ABS pipe - blue colour - does not help also).

=> Can anyone suggest a weaker pump or any other way to reduce the pressure ?

thank you thank you

Hi zheilwane, my house is a DS link with 3 bathrooms and one rain shower, which model of pump do you recommend for my house? My area has very bad water pressure so much so i have to use heaters with built in pump else the water pressure is a good as useless. I am looking to fix this pump to improve the water pressure for my entire house.

Not really from end user pal. From seller yes and stated it is variable pressure. Which mean after certain pressure is set, it will keeping up the pressure when u turn on the water and up to 4 bathroom. It is quite silent as well as easy to install. rclxms.gif

Scala 2 is a new model in malaysia, hence wont have much review on it. However, grundfos is popular for low noise, high pressure and durability for CH series which later then replaced with CM series (current model) while Scala2 is a completely new design.

With all the new added features, the scala2 price is quite close to CM series. Then people start to ask, why new model so cheap? Answer is MATERIAL used.

So which model to choose?
If u need all the new features like variable speed, outdoor installation, etc etc then scala2

If you wan something that is proven to be good, durable and also has been used many years in malaysia then CM series such as CM3-5PM1

Want to know more details, i can point out and compare when u r in my shop smile.gif

Sounds like a pump that suited for pushing water up based on "Head max". If there's no alternative step down / de-rated / reduced power setting then better change to another.

Looks like a multi stage series based on the pdf.

get Grundfos scala 2 then, since it is variable speed and adjustable pressure

FYI, is not the pump too strong, if leak at the joint = wasnt installed properly with the right glue. If burst out from the pipe = the pipe is lousy or too thin

Most pipes (even ABS) should be able to withstand pressure up to 10 bar or beyond. Water pump only pressurizes up to around 3 bar.

Usually if the pipe leaks, it's likely a workmanship issue - especially near the joints. Maybe the plumber didn't joint properly.

Another reason could be slight settlement of the house causing stress on the pipes and making it crack.

I think most pumps have a "head" rating. Doesn't mean that the pump is specially designed to push water up only.

I'm quite sure the CH4-40 is also classified as a normal domestic water pump.

Hi zheilwane,
I have been using a CH2-50 Grundfos pump and looking for a replacement. Have been using it for almost 10 years. Can you please recommend an equivalent model or a more suitable model for this based on the current models available from Grundfos. I have 4 bathrooms that use this pump (although mostly not at the same time) and my plummer commended that its a bit too strong. Please advise. Thank you.
