Depend on the piping configuration you may end up even lower / no water pressure to the water heater. E.g. If the tank only have one outgoing pipe and is connect to a T where one go to a direct water heater and another go to the pump, the pump may have suck all the water and you leave so little pressure to flow to the water heater. Another problem if the storage tank is install slightly higher than the water tank you have lots of problem.

An experience plumber will be able to advice you.
Also, the storage water heater run on 3Kwatt, it don't have adjustment so for a 10 mins bath the storage should have enough hot water.
And remember to put a bypass in case you need to service the water heater.
*
If base on my experiennce (half cook only blush.gif ) I will T out from the main before go in to the tank. Since it is a storage heater type, it don't need high pressure. The hot water always inside the tank. And with a 60 liter of hot water in the tank the pressure itself is enough to push. Have you see before those old house with a storage heater on top just beside the shower or just ontop bathroom?

When I visit those 4season country house, normally the hot water pressure is low. What I know is to save the hot water. Flowing high and fast will waste alot since hot water need energy to heat. And when you shower, you mix cold water more than the hot water. Something like 2:1 or 3:1 ratio depend how hot can you stand.

If the water supply for storage heater is from main water while cold is from water pump. Imagine u r showering, some1 in the kitchen turns on the tap, your main water pressure will drop. Hence, the hot water will slow down and you will feel the water suddenly become cold. Therefore, both cold and hob water must be from the same source.

yes its on ground floor, cause single story , no "upper-cement" slab/platform place to place it..

my place its LAP , piping too old, and full of shit/rust/sand/soil what ever, water pressure damn low... need about 5 mins plus to fill my toilet flush

so need a big tank to keep additional water smile.gif

It is pretty common to have extra tank at the ground floor in others country. Why not here. My friend house have 6 tank for his 1st storey house!

Even I have 2 tank link, auto feedback when no water from syabas for entire house. Can last me few day.

Really. I don't believe too till he show me. He plan system is some tank use, solar -> pump -> tank - flushing toilet.

His tank is bigger than your 1. But compact and save space. Here is 1 of the tank pic.

My tank is normal square black plastic with cover.(Name something like Polytrex). Normally you see ontop of the house. Forget how many liter liau. I calculate the daily usage liter and how many day I want to reserve before get a right size water tank. (But forget to calculate the vaporise sad.gif ) Endup need 2 tank.

When no water from syabas, the tank will auto supply the water to entire house including the main pipe like kitchen etc. Just modify some piping and put in a check valve after the meter and the bypass pipe that supply water to your tank. Sorry, lazy to draw. tongue.gif

@ozak

oh those kind of tank is usually used for rainwater storage can be "re-purposed" to be water tank also, but kinda hard to find suppliers and its not that cheap also.. sad.gif

just curious, your friend has 6 of those *in the picture you shared*, cause each 1 of those is considered a tank.. or your friend calculate each segment as a tank ?

oh okie using a check valve, noted smile.gif

Cost around rm3k each. Never see this kind of tank here. Good for locate at the side of the house for those single storey house.

hey guys just a dumb/curious question

let's say i got 2 tanks..

1 on the roof(100gal) and the other on the ground floor(500gal)

how do i let my roof tank fill up first before filling up my ground floor tank..

i can't pipe the roof tank to fill the ground floor tank, cause that will cause all the water to fill the ground floor tank which leads the roof tank to be empty most of the time...

Why cannot? Just pipe out from the roof tank. Put a ball shutoff for the ground tank. When fill up, the ball will shutoff. The main pipe continue fill up the roof tank.

Never tried this before, but i guess this should work. Why u wanna do so?

The main will fill up the top tank first. WHen water level reaches the top level, it will flow down to the ground floor tank. Once the ground floor tank is filled upto the infill valve level, the water will stop. Hence, the main water will continue to fill up the top floor tank until it reaches the max level which will then turn off the infill valve and stop the water from entering the top tank.
