Use a good player like MoboPlayer, no need extra codecs. You shouldn't have a problem playing mkv and mp4 on Galaxy SL.

current phone on 2.2. lets' say manufacturer mentioned that this phone is capable to upgrade to 2.3, max we can upgrade is 2.3 only ?
what happen if 2.4 or 3.0 out, are we managed to upgrade it too ?

You can upgrade to 2.4 or 3.0 (example) if there's a custom ROM. Custom ROM = written by developer who owns the phone and not associated with the phone manufacturer.

Eg. SEX10 currently on 2.1 officially, but devs have 2.2 and 2.3 ROMs for it.

Basically all the apps u can use. The only problem is u might get some bug / glitch ..

Just that some games are specifically make for high end devices.
(e.g Some games are made for Tegra devices)

I recommend you use your data network if you're on DiGi since its only RM5 for a day to try out. If not, go to a place like Starbucks and login from the browser first then proceed again.

anyone experience some trouble downloading apps in android market using Honeycomb tablet? i try download apps like Flash Player 10.3, Angry Bird, Wyse.......... & some. but failed. come out error msg 'this item cannot be download in your country'. y is tat? it's MOT XOOM from Brightstar warranty.

^android market has lots of free games that does not involve any kind of user modification to install.

In fact, androids can install apps from sources other than the market. Meaning, as long as you have the file, you can install it (like on a PC).

To combat piracy, it is forum policy to not discuss pirated games. The official channel is thru the market. Good news is that paid apps can be viewed on the Android Market in Malaysia already.
