hello guys, i want to know does RAM is importance so much? like some phone have 512mb also got 768mb and got 1gb...what is the different? does it effect phone's performance? and does ram really matter or the cpu?? Thanks!!  notworthy.gif
*
having more RAM is better definitely but if the difference between two phones are just 768 and 1gb, no worries there, it is not that noticeable. u will notice in multitasking mainly. also depends on your usage, if you use a lot of widgets, run a lot of apps, having more memory is definitely good. for CPU, depends if you play games (cpu intensive games) or otherwise, also depends on the kind of widgets you use too..whether they are of cpu intensive or not. I'd recommend getting a higher end dual core smartphone for the best experience. Something like galaxy S II smile.gif

hey guys.

want to ask about how do we close an open apps from running in background?
And is it actually effecting the battery usage?

Im using Eee transformer, not yet upgrade to 3.1 HC.
*
some apps that are running in background do eat up more battery depending on the design of the app itself. lets say if you have an app that constantly connects to some server every 5 minutes even after you have closed the app (via the exit/close button in the app - putting the app in background doesnt count), this will definitely eat up your battery. however this is the worse case scenario for apps, usually they are properly designed in most cases, but if you're really paranoid about it, you can just go ahead and kill the app if you feel that it is eating up your battery. Some apps will behalf like what i've described above by default but you can set the behaviour in some settings menu in the app itself, so look there and see if you can configure it to the way you want first, before forcibly shutting it down via task managers.

Just keep pressing back until it prompts you to exit. Or, if you're using a browser, press the menu button and exit.
Not sure what it is. sorry can't help you
The only way is to perform a factory reset. I'm sorry. You should create a new account and use it just for the eee pad.
Class 8 is the highest biggrin.gif. Class 4 or 6 should be enough.

i saw someone selling class 10 card out there... hmm.gif

768vs1gb is only noticeable if you multitask a lot. Sometimes people tend to allow applications to download and/or operate themselves thus extra ram will allow smooth progression/surfing. I'm using an Incredible S and with just 2 or 3 applications open, ram is already low. Having more is always better. Depending on your needs, different phones will be recommended. For an extensive and detailed reply, i suggest you ask at the phone recommendation thread.

Haha no idea what they're for though. I'm using a class 4 SD card and it ain't that bad. Class 6 would perform better though. Class 4 is a bit lacking in the speed department.

There's a limit to the phone's read/write speed to the SD card itself. Do check the limitation of the phone first before investing in that class 10. In most devices it is unnecessary to get Class 10.

A lot of the time (in fact, most of the time) the so called speed can be increased by simply modifying the read cache value in ROMs.

Here's an app to go with it:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.sdincrease.it

Do not proceed without understanding what you're doing.

^no harm in getting class 10, just saying it's redundant. It's like getting a ferrari to drive in the city. Fancy, but redundant. I'm using class 4 ok only. Don't see how a class 10 would do any good.

The link i showed you was akin to taking the speed limit and traffic away.

After moving apps to SD, I'm still getting Low Memory blockage. Sometimes it is just after installing what should be a small app. Is there any way to tell which apps are filling up the phone memory? My phone is 2.2.1, not rooted.

Yes some devs already incorporate the change into the ROMs when the read cache thing was discovered.

currently, i own 2 android phone, samsung G5 and ideos X5, both comes with their own charger.
samsung travel adapter - output : 5.0V == 0.7A
huawei power adapter - output : 5.0V == 1.0A

anyone know whether i can just use either one of this charger to charge both of my phone? will it cause any problem like inadequate power charge/etc?
thanks.
