QUOTE(nghj @ Mar 25 2013, 03:55 PM) if you want live location, u need data/internet cos ur fren phone need to send the info to a server for you to view their location. if no data/internet connection, can only record the position on a file on the phone for checking later. which means without data/internet it is impossible to check the location of the other 1? but how if the user allows the app to auto detect their location? i still think it's possible to work but dont know whether gt such app exist or not

QUOTE(PeeEl @ Mar 28 2013, 10:44 AM) If you do not switch on your data(whether you have a data plan or not) and are not within any WiFi range, whatever app cannot detect your location, period. how about if they use gps to auto detect the location? as in like you use gps navigation without connecting to network

QUOTE(nghj @ Mar 28 2013, 12:00 PM) when you navigate using GPS, your phone RECEIVES signal from the satelite in space and your phone software does the calculation to show your location. No location data is sent from your phone. perhaps you can read more on how GPS works. hmm i see that's a sad case btw, i heard that maxis gt a service is to track other maxis number location right? but need to pay monthly fee
