QUOTE(Gen-X @ Mar 3 2011, 11:40 AM)
Well, this young chap managed to link all four of my Plats on the first try, After he said he done it, I went to ATM to register for M2U with my MBB Plat MC. After this, went back to the guy and he printed out my records to show me all four cards linked to M2U. After this I went online with the branch's PC and registered "first time login" and when I click Account Info - all four cards were shown  rclxm9.gif
So, as what wshoh said, MBB can link all your cards to M2U even without you having SACA. I guess the young guy that serviced me was more computer savvy  biggrin.gif
I got mine linked under a single login username just a few hours ago without having me to say "my friend can get it done at Jalan Duta branch woh" laugh.gif

QUOTE(chemistry @ Mar 3 2011, 12:16 PM)
Credit limit is not determined by you but the bank.
New card CL does not necessarily follow the old one. As such, even though you manage to get HSBC increase your CL, MBB may still reject your application , or approve with a lower CL.
Agreed. Of all the credit cards i currently hold, the Maybank's ones have the lowest limit.

QUOTE(StupidGuyPlayComp @ Mar 3 2011, 12:58 PM)
biggrin.gif Who tell you the GST must charge on first month.............?

Myfirst MBB's statement also exclude the GST, but i believe it will apply in future month
That's true. Maybank hasn't charged the GST to my account either.

QUOTE(MNet @ Mar 3 2011, 01:06 PM)
apply cc need see kwsp?
No

QUOTE(gerrardling @ Mar 3 2011, 02:25 PM)
mbb needs ur saving account statement and salary slip
No. Savings Account statement is not necessary actually. When my mom applied for her cards last time, she never attached any of her banks statements.

It won't impact anything but personally I'll get it removed because it can get confusing + I'd like my system to be clean of things which are not supposed to be there.

If MBB really did their job, sure they will know this is not enough for me. Maybe you are MBB supporter but I'm not. I have savings, fixed dep and CC and even etiqa with MBB for 5 years. Their service is really bad and i;m not blamed it without any reason.
I am not a fan of Maybank either but you've got to admit, their Maybankard 2 AMEX really is something tongue.gif

QUOTE(shauyan @ Mar 4 2011, 01:12 PM)
Thanks for your advise Gen-X. In fact, I faxed my document on Monday night, i received SMS about application approved on yesterday night. It is only 3 working days
I have to admit that their CC processing is REALLY FAST  rclxms.gif
This is a special exception for the recently launched Maybankard 2. For all other card types, they are still quite slow.

QUOTE(sweetpea123 @ Mar 4 2011, 01:27 PM)
Maybank REALLY has to increase their number of CS manning the phonelines at 1800881801. I have been trying for 30 minutes and it's always PLEASE HOLD THE LINE / PLEASE CALL BACK LATER. Can you imagine if I want to report a lost card? A lot could have happened in that 30 minutes !!!
I never faced such problem so far and i had make more than 20 calls to Maybank since i received my Maybankard 2 cards before CNY.

QUOTE(Xai-V-iaX @ Mar 4 2011, 02:12 PM)
Hope I can do the same with OCBC as well. Open an Savings Acct with them. Dump say a 5 figure amount into the account and then apply for their Titanium MC....to compensate on my unsuccessful application for their card. Wonder if this might work. hmm.gif
But 5 figure is not really a lot of money these days ... i blame this on inflation, our weak MYR and poor wages in Malaysia biggrin.gif

QUOTE(shauyan @ Mar 4 2011, 02:14 PM)
haha... seriously, i am attracted by AMEX 5x treat points  rclxms.gif  it is already 2.5% points.
I traveled to US, so acceptance of AMEX is not a problem for me  tongue.gif
Previously i'm using Citi Cashback platinum, but for other retail transaction on 0.3%
Hence, this is why i'm going back to MBB, even though i had bad experience with it but i have take care of my wallet too  rolleyes.gif
Just like Discover and Diners Club, AMEX is not widely accepted in US too but you will definitely won't go wrong with VISA and MasterCard.

QUOTE(chemistry @ Mar 4 2011, 07:40 PM)
Do you always enter airport lounges? smile.gif
What does Free shower actually mean? Bath towel + shampoo+body shampoo etc provided FOC?
Sorry I'm just curious  rolleyes.gif
Yes. Everything is provided and the shower room resembles that of a 5-star hotel which is no surprise really as most users are those flying Business Class or First Class.

QUOTE(choonkeong @ Mar 4 2011, 10:24 PM)
I am going to buy things at ebay tomorrow since MBB CS said that all payment transactions are considered as retail transactions.
Affirmative. My plane tickets purchase last month via www.malaysiaairlines.com got me the 5% weekend cash back too thumbup.gif

QUOTE(wshoh @ Mar 4 2011, 11:16 PM)
Precisely what I am trying to do now. Swiped my MBBKard2 Amex and Visa as well as DAMC at various times in Taiwan today. Preferred card today still Visa but will utilise Amex more frequently tomorrow (Saturday) for the weekend 5% rebate until RM50 cap reached.
Do update us with the actual rates smile.gif

can get debit card with citibank? since they don't have savings account? means have to put money inside the card is it? like the ambank debit card
Citibank does offer a range of savings account and all are linked to the debit card. They do not offer any standalone debit card.

I have a CIMB saving account, so CIMB card is my only option for now.
I don't quite get this. Did you know that you do not have to have a savings or current account with a bank in order to own their credit card ? I do not have any savings/current account with Maybank but i do have their credit cards.

Please bear with me, assuming i can use cimbclicks to settle my credit card statement of other banks, is there any service charge? Or to avoid the above quoted problem, is it advisable to open a Maybank account?
Please refer to this table below :

QUOTE(chemistry @ Mar 6 2011, 09:27 AM)
For example, I get cashback of RM40++ every month from OCBC Titanium, I don't mind being charged RM2 IBG fee.
I am too cheapskate to pay for the RM2 IBG fee but luckily, my HSBC account gives me unlimited free IBG. So i always make the IBG out from HSBC online. And in case the amount is big, i'll issue a cheque instead.

QUOTE(chemistry @ Mar 6 2011, 09:27 AM)
Anyway, I chose to open a CIMB Basic Savings Account (Option 2), where you get to perform 2 (two) IBG fund transfers with just a fee of RM0.50 (each trxn). Subsequent trxn will be charged RM2.
It's been revised to RM1.

Unlimited free IBG sounds good to me.
Does HSBC Premier and Advance pays good interest ? or any other banks offer unlimited free IBG with reasonable  good deposit rate ?
Asa Hye and Gen-X said, the interest given to HSBC accounts is very low. The other account that offers free IBG is AmBank Amstar Extreme. Interest is very high too especially for a current account.

QUOTE(tohzw @ Mar 6 2011, 08:40 PM)
Hi! I'm pretty new to this forum. Have you guys ever heard of any credit card with no minimum income required for tertiary students in Malaysia?
Sure. As long as you are at least 21-year-old and have at least RM200k, then you will get a pre-approved credit card from certain banks. Alternatively, you can pledge your fixed deposit account to get a credit card. Say RM5k at least ... You won't be able to close the pledged fixed deposit account as long as your credit card is still active.

QUOTE(tohzw @ Mar 6 2011, 08:40 PM)
Btw, is it possible for me to apply for a principal credit card if i am still studying and i do receive allowance every month from my sponsor?
You mean your education is now paid by someone else is it ? I'm afraid this is impossible. If you have other passive income such as dividends from the shares you hold, rentals or interest earned from fixed deposits then yes. You can use these to apply for a credit card. Otherwise, it is a definite no.

Which bank provides this "pledged fixed deposit account" thing? Is citibank offering this kind of service?
Many banks do offer such service. Try to call their CS to find out.

What can we do if the bank sending gold card instead of platinum card that we were applying for? how to cancel it? or maybe I don't use the card and cut it? I'm just want to confirm that I won't get tax for it.
Call their CS first. And then send in a cancellation form. Make sure you do a follow-up.

Just to check with you guys - expecting the arrival of my M2 AMEX & VISA CC in the coming days. What's the procedure next? How do I go by activating it?
I did call Maybank CS when i received mine but some other people said no activation is required. Anyway, just look at the letter you received with the card. There should be instructions in there.

With these free IBG transfers and all the other goodies, RHB is beginning to sound like one of the crappiest banks around.  sad.gif  damn!
Only very few banks offer free IBG, so it doesn't make RHB Bank subpar.

Is the credit line given 1:1 à la OCBC and Public Bank ?

Wah RM288, makes me want to apply for it too. Years back I had a SCB Plat where I used less than RM20K with it and SCB refused to waive the annual fee in full so I canceled it. From then on never bothered with SCB. Nowadays is it easy to get annual fee waive in full for SCB Plat cards?
Nevermind. Just apply for it and then cancel the card a few months later biggrin.gif Anyway, i think the annual fee for all newly approved credit card is now waived for 2 years.
