Hi hi glad to know a dean list scorer here ,under which lecturer are u doing your Phd?
from what i know, quite a number of my seniors who have scored 1st class aka dean list do not bother to skip to Phd just because they feel that they are not ready , and thus they take master first, would you mind to share with us your piece on jumping straight to Phd from degree, would it be advisable so?

Currently working under Emeritus Prof. Yong Hoi Sen (arthropods), Prof. Phang Siew Moi and Dr. Lim Phaik Eem (seaweeds)
Personally, I think if you can skip, just skip, it saves you a lot of time THat's why I din't opt for studying overseas....
Most of my seniors who studied masters (even those who ain't 1st class students) are recommended to convert to phD in the end anyway (in the field of Science, not sure about the others) haha~
And since the scholarship offered is very good, why not? Of course there will be stress, but its well worth it

Wow, you are working under 3 lecturers for your Phd? that is amazing, well i learnt that Prof Chong Ving Ching, also a very prominient lecturer in the field ecology and biodiversity, and you ar not under him? i love to attend his lecture as well as like his teaching style, very detailed and informative

well what u mean is converting your master to Phd at the end is highly recommended? i know many wanted to continue up to master but not till Phd, that is what i wonder, because i do heard about Master but no Phd= Haf boiled egg? Is that so?

to me convocation is crappy.

you go and prepare yourself for 3 hours. stand for 5 hours.

oh well, the grads custom we have to borrow from UM right? from which department we shall look for that? think of borrow a grads custom because wanna have photos session for personal reason though.

I took mine already 2 years before I graduate

My sis graduate in 2009. My bro 2010. Me 2011.

So on my sis graduation in 2009, me and my brother borrow senior's robe and we went and took family photo with 3 graduates... cause 3 also from UM

so done in one shot. save space in the house and save money as well. save my parent energy to purposely go there wait for the whole day for that 1 second... of their childs name to be announce on the bloody speaker.
