True enough... there are lots of building in UM but no parking allocated. IPS parking had been demolished for another unknown(heard is UPGP) building... although I'm not major in building/construction, but by mere looking at outside, the new building doesn't seems to have any visible car park. I wonder what those architect and interior designer think before they draft the plan.

Yup, all the fundings went to the buildings... as if they have a better building (UPGP), they can manage the funds better... that explained the reason of all our approved research grant was held and not given to us to spend. Yet, we still need to fulfill our boss KPI by produce 3 ISI paper. Also, other problems such as slow payment issue etc... really give us a very hard time, on top of that there is a newly implemented e-procurement system... if you are a research-based postgrad, you know and should be able to understand the problem and the fuss what I was saying. Just imagine all our funds were slashed just to build a useless building which doesn't guarantee efficiency in future grant management.

I'm not sure about LAN wires, but yes, all college and departments have Wifi, almost the whole campus is wifi covered....
But coverage is one thing, speed is another thing

Well, there are quite a lot of parking lots allocated, only that almost all of them are for staffs/lecturers
Yeah, parking will be a problem for IPS students (like me) soon, especially headache when we have to go to Science Fac to tutor classes and then come back and find there's no single parking lots

Yeah, e-procurement "FTW"!!!!!!!!!!!! A new system to make our lives much, much more miserable FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.......

Hi, can someone share me some info about Masters in English Language?

Questions of mine would be as below:
1. Coursework based or Thesis based?
2. Duration of the entire program for Thesis based?
3. Study time for Thesis based Master Program?
4. Comparing with UPM's Master in English Language, what are the advantages and disadvantages between these 2?

So far that's all I want to know. Thanks in advance!

p.s: I'm actually thinking to choose UPM's master in english language, but their class time is weekdays 4pm onwards... and I am working...

before this most student from FSKTM, APM, API would stay there
now KK10 already became residential college for international students and only small number of local student are stay there.( u can find korean chick, chinese chick here )
I am pretty sure all college dont provided LAN in their room, except KK10( their server didnt cap the bandwidth also )
last time im working with PTM, in whole UM actually got 1000 access points, so most of the place are wifi covered.
only very small area not getting the signal because of the building design mostly.

UTP hav LAN wire lor..haha

check my reply few posts before.

there are 4 entrances into UM. 2 main entrances, one from bangsar and one from pj. there other two entrances from damansara and pj section 16 are quite hidden so find them yourselves.

the damansara gate opens only during working hours that is 8am-6pm and not on weekends. im not really sure about the section 16 gate, but as from my experience it opens daily from 8am to 9pm and not on weekends too.

the 2 main entrances open everyday and everytime. however the pj gate is closed everyday from 12am to 6am.

so to answer ur question, no there is no curfew in UM as the bangsar gate opens 24/7.

So ur saying we can go out anytime we want?

The only time there was "curfew" was during election time and some other cases e.g. examination hall burning, pig head throwing, and hostel thefts

I will be going to UM for PASUM 2011/2012
My course is Sains Hayat....
However I don't like medic but i like biology....
Can Sains Hayat graduate apply for engineering course at UM?
I mean like software engineering?

I got some faculty mate whom are from Hayat but pursuit to SE. there are some took the engineering course as well. So i guess, the answer is yes.

having said that, iinm during my time. we can select which stream to be taken within the orientation week. so why don't u jump to Physical instead if u do like Computer Science?
