Got my keyboard dock today. I got many many stares when I detached the tablet from the dock in Starbucks. laugh.gif

Depends on your usage.... if pure net surfing + minor office work + limited budget, the Eee Pad Transformer will fit just nice~
But if you're into more demanding tasks, then yes, having a desktop/laptop 1st would be more appropriate hmm.gif

Android phone is a .... well, phone... so juz use it like a phone...

Android tablet (and iPad as well), on the other hand, is more of a competitor to netbook... it's lighter and has longer battery life, while offering similar functionalities as a netbook, but at the expense of not using Windows... u can get Windows-based tabs, but at the cost of shorter battery life...

basically if u re considering a netbook or ultraportable like MacBook Air and Asus UX21, tablets are worth taking a look too...

bachelor student...

juz finished exam, so yeah, lots of free time for the next 5 weeks... laugh.gif

anyway for tablet i still see it as a secondary rig like netbook and MacBook Air, except that there is a different way of using it...

a desktop or regular laptop is still needed for the heavy duty work...

say for myself, i can't survive with only my MacBook Air..., i still need my N81Vp for things like games, videos, etc...

same goes for my father, he needs a desktop to manage his investment portfolio... the Galaxy Tab is mainly for him to monitor the market (and for my mum to play Angry Birds tongue.gif)

well, at this point in time, a computer is still needed...

perhaps a few years later when cloud computing has matured, we can really detach tablets from the computer...

If you ask me, the Transformer keyboard takes some time to get used to. The keys feel a bit smaller than I expected them to be and I didn't have problems typing on a netbook before.

Tearing it apart... I find it impossible due to the very very stiff locking mechanism. No accidental removals. laugh.gif

Really up to you. A PC first is better for everything else. Once you need the mobility factor, then a tablet is a great addition. And well, the phone is just a phone. smile.gif
