QUOTE(RayKazansky @ May 5 2011, 11:36 PM) I start to think of something when you guys mention Tegra 2, 3, 4.... the original Galaxy Tab WiFi?Actually when comes to my requirement of browsing while waiting for flights, during flight or small discussion with friends and relatives... i think samsung galaxy wifi will be sufficient enough.... not sure if i really need tegra II dun... it's been suspected that Samsung downgraded the hardware in it... instead of Hummingbird + PowerVR SGX 540 + Bluetooth 3.0, some users of WiFi version are complaining that they ve TI OMAP 3630 + PowerVR SGX 530 + Bluetooth 2.1 instead... |

but not so for Galaxy Tab WiFi... the hardware is stated to be the same as Galaxy Tab 3G... |

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ May 6 2011, 09:05 AM) That is one expensive pen for an expensive tablet honestly speaking, looking at the track record of Apple's legal team, Intel may get sued by Apple in the future...Who wouldn't want to supply iPhone/iPads? So much money there dun forget that Intel is coming up with their own Android smartphone and tablet as well... |

QUOTE(AlexLai @ May 6 2011, 09:13 AM) Honestly, I don't really care. If Intel wants some more Apple pie let them be. As long as they can give a compelling enough platform to run it should be worth noting. well, that is, if Apple dun mind all their CPU coming from the same company...if anything happen to Intel, both their Mac and iDevices will be affected... unless Apple want to accelerate their partnership with AMD... |

QUOTE(AlexLai @ May 6 2011, 09:41 AM) ARM is more of a licensing company now...they merely set the standard of the architecture, and it's up to the makers to make their own... that's y we ve all sorts of ARM CPU in the market... Scorpion, Hummingbird, OMAP, Tegra, etc etc... Added on May 6, 2011, 10:55 am QUOTE(djlah @ May 6 2011, 10:51 AM) I don't think so, The ARM architecture is licensable. many company having it, Apple, LG, Qualcomm, etc... i think it was ATi who acquired it and AMD sold it to Qualcomm... furthermore, AMD had acquire Imageon before (Today Renaming to Adreno), and later sold of to Qualcomm. anyway Adreno is merely a GPU... Added on May 6, 2011, 11:00 am QUOTE(Ricky Ling @ May 6 2011, 10:50 AM) Wau - that would be RM2,655 which is higher than local pricing (RM2,499) so still waiting for Maxis plan for Flyer well, considering that the original Galaxy Tab was also at the same price point when it was launched, i think this price is fair...anticipating price drop real soon... RUMOUR TIME AGAIN!
Asus has spoken officially, that the shortage is due to the unexpected demand, and they re ranking up production by 100k/mth until all demands are met... meaning they will be throwing out 200k units in June, 300k in July, 400k in Aug, and so on... any thoughts? http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/06/asus-ee...t-component-sh/ |

QUOTE(fidtman @ May 9 2011, 02:43 PM) Motorola Xoom - 3G cdma & wifi - mini USB - 3G GSM still not available honestly i can live without full USB port...Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v - no USB & no HDMi port ( 3G available ) Toshiba ANT - wifi only Asus eee pad transformer - wifi only (both USB at docking system ) Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 & 8.9 ( not yet launch ) Why arent any of these 'current" Honeycomb 3.0 got all in one spec, full size USB, sd card, HDMI,3G GSM bundle together. Most of 3G GSM Honeycomb will launch later of the year....( iPad2 will sold by millions by that time ) strange.... HTC Flyer has 3G modem though... and will ve Honeycomb... but with tethering, is there really a need for 3G modem? This post has been edited by astria: May 9 2011, 03:47 PM |

QUOTE(AlexLai @ May 9 2011, 06:58 PM) If by analogical reasoning, since US pricing is 399 USD, then over here should be RM13xx. If it is that price, then I can safely say, Asus has won the local Android tablet market for now. Apple is trying to win in another area...parts supply... now basically is whoever can meet the demand will dominate the market... |
