so, official words from Asus is that they are doing some stringent testing on Transformer which led to the delay...
but from the various sources it still sounds more like parts shortage to me...

QUOTE(AlexLai @ May 4 2011, 11:50 AM) They're having such a bad shortage that they can only churn out 1/3 of the total number they were supposed to produce now. some are blaming the tsunami... Apple snapped up all the supplies soon after it...

QUOTE(djlah @ May 4 2011, 12:20 PM) damm Apple..... now touch panel shortage, make other market player suffer.... Apple secures 60% of global touch panel capacity, causing tight supplyhttp://www.digitimes.com/news/a20110216PD219.htmlwell, that's 1 way to beat competition... QUOTE(viruz019 @ May 4 2011, 12:36 PM) means right now we will have to wait to get our hands on the tablets huh.. do u tink it's wise to get the xoom wifi from seller in lyn @ RM2000~2200 or import one from US with 3g @ around RM2400~2600? will it work here? or shud i wait for other alternatives? 3G version is useless... Verizon Wireless uses CDMA for it's 3G service, not GSM...

QUOTE(viruz019 @ May 4 2011, 01:00 PM) awh..my bad i din noe tat so as of now, oni wifi version is working here or until local market brings it in then i can oni register for 3g usage? well, 1 possible way is to get the Xoom upgraded to 4G capable... Verizon uses LTE for 4G, which is wat we will use eventually... otherwise, no pt in getting the 3G version...

yeah, Motorola sort of rushed to get Xoom out... users can send it back to Motorola to be upgraded to 4G capable once ready... anyway i ve to admit, a tablet with 3G modem is much more convenient...

hmm, really depends...
iPad is pretty much standard price... Galaxy Tab can be quite cheap though... AU$29/mth, 24 mths contract, 6GB data...

QUOTE(AlexLai @ May 5 2011, 11:06 PM) I think Tegra 3 is where I draw the line. Unless Tegra 4 can run a super tablet optimized version of Windows (highly doubtful) very very well, I think it's good enough. iirc NV is aiming for 12 cores in Tegra 4...
