IMO, you should root it and tinker it to the way your wife likes it,
there are just so many custom ROMs out there that is so much better than the stock one,
plus they're all stable enough for everyday use

I just wished they had a glide up/down shortcut though like other Launcher apps. Too used to gliding up to pull down notification and gliding down for Settings =)
