Transaction Date determines cashback eligibility, i.e. whether you swiped on Sat/Sun or weekday. This is the key indicator.

Posting Date determines which monthly cashback quota to be utilized.

To get cashback, what's important is the transaction date and not posting date as shown in your screenshot? biggrin.gif

post more info

1) which petrol brand? each has different reserved amount, e.g. my experience --> Petronas/Caltex/BHP reserved RM200
2) did you get any SMS notification?

iinm, there's no change preauthorization mechanism. surprisingly, they educate cardholders of this in their replacement card mailer, cuz many ppl caught offguard changing from bankcard --> debit card or new credit card users.

1. Petron Jalan Pasar, KL
2. Using UOB ONE card
3. No SMS notification
4. Self service automated dispenser has indication that it is Pin & Pay enabled.
5. PIN needs to be keyed in in order to proceed to the next step for approval.

for petronas kiosk, even preset also got preauthorization amount.

for petron kiosk, preset amount = deducted amount, no preauthorization.

if want to avoid preauthorization, swipe at the counter.

I'm not the card problem.
It is the merchant side terminal.
I just checked that RM 200 will be withheld even though PIN is keyed in.

What's wrong with the preauthorization? Why do people want to avoid it? Does it affect credit score or something?

it wil earmark the amount and it will reduce the available credit limit.

Example, if u have debit card with balance of RM300 and u goto pump petrol and it will earmark RM200 due to preauthorization even u pump RM10.

U can only use RM100 balance in your debit card only.
The earmark of RM190 sometime need to wait few days or evern more than 1 weeks for bank to release.

U will no see any impact if u use credit card and have 10000 credit limit which if u no use it anyway.

READ the t&c or pbb-petron page, then you'll know whether it's useful to you.

Just found out that petronas got prepaid card F1, RM105 credit just need to pay RM100. Indirectly is 5% rebate. Btw, anyone using maybank petronas card, the cash back is still available?
