Ok, here's an easy solution: reduce the Arc's rrp by 500 or so.

the lower price tag will fully justify the fact that the arc is launched after dual-core phones are coming into the market.

It makes sense. I remember when shopping for my laptop, dual-core processors were begining to replace the traditional single-core processors.

As a result, single-core processor laptops, even if brand new, are priced noticeably lower than the dual-core laptops.

Seems to me then it is only logical for SE to price the Arc around 1,500 or so, since they decided to launch the Arc in the era of dual-core phones.

This is my main concern also, i heard the internal memory (ROM ??) is vry important and some apps can only be installed in internal memory not external memory card. Can anyone pls explain whether is it true?

nah, sony dun care bout tht.. they focus more on uxp n the design of the phone itself.. specs can b same as time goes by, but aesthetic design n the uxp is unique..

also, average joe know nuts bout dual core... its not the time yet to hype bout it now..

n one more thing i bought arc, is bcoz they said will officially giving the unlocked bootloader to xperia series (arc, pro, play, neo) in the future.. thts a good move from sony..

u can get arc at the price of 1500, but nid to wait lor, sony always popular with coming up with exp price first..

Maybe Xperia neo going to cost around RM1400-1500? It has almost the same spec as arc but smaller screen size only.

yup, same spec n it will b cheaper than arc.. the main point for the arc compared to neo is the design n the lightweight.. neo looks nearly identical to vivaz..

Midvalley I don't know. Gardens cannot. I went to Maxis at Gardens yesterday and when I asked that worker about this phone he just looked at me blankly and said "belum lagi". Ask him when will they start selling and the answer is "tak tau".

Imo, it's not really worth it to get it from Maxis lar. Even if you get it at $1,499, fine, how much do you save? $400? $500? But then you need to be bonded to Maxis and their shitty 3GB data plan for 2 years. Unless 3GB of data per month is enough for you (3GB for me frankly, I can use it up in 1 day), else there's no point.

As for the phone itself, like I said, I think it's a brilliant phone - for 2010. It's still a very nice phone, but there really isn't much to go nuts about.

The Bravia screen thing is pretty much just marketing hype. Oh, the screen looks gorgeous, definitely. But then again, so does the Super AMOLEDs. Even the SLCDs are more or less in the same level. At least to my eyes.

As for the camera, yea, pictures and videos look good, and it's probably one of the top cameras around for Android phones. However, I personally feel that it still does not match the N8's camera. Didn't manage to try out the xmor thing though, but I'm not banking too much into it.

Performance wise, it's not much better or worse than the SGS and DHD, which is the main reason why I feel this is a 2010 phone.

The phone does comes with Gingerbread though, so that's something to look forward to. And yes, the phone looks as nice in your hands as it does in pictures of it you seen so far online.

Anyone who bought the phone, please give more in-depth reviews.
*
hi. thank you for the short review. am stuck at the junction.. wait for iphone5 if there really is one.. get nexus s
or go for samsung...
oh well there will always be a new phone coming so guess i will wait for a few more reviews of the arc then decide

Alright, very nice.

And those phone will be outdated in 2 months time with other phones out there with newer processors, android 3.0 and stuff..

And the one after that, and that one after that..

Your point?

My point better buy Samsung or iPhone. Better resale value hehe thumbup.gif

i really think arc will have better 2nd hand value because how many SE high end android are there? compared to samsung galaxy s family alone?
SE fan will hold the Arc highly.

moreover the design is very nice unlike each & every other top range android phone.
The camera is only second to N8
screen not the same as samoled, still better than standard lcd.

having said that, i would still trade in my arc when sgs2 available sweat.gif

right, should discuss pro & cons of phones..
havent played with mine yet..
still on 1st time charging..

1 normal handsfree
no hdmi cable.
1 usb cable
1 wall charger
1 car charger
free screen protector together.
memory card 8gb.
pouch

RM 1670 (AP)

but must say eventhough the shutter key is quite small & a little bit stiff,
still works well, better than none.

power button also very small, thanksfully can unlocked screen using the home key.

no 'auto adjust brightnest' sweat.gif , so had to use 100%

silver colour looks VERY nice, hopefully the skin wouldnt peeled off easily, as it does looks so hmm.gif
