Hi newbies here. Wira Millenium Edition 1.6 4G92 (SOHC)....
*

welcome, welcome.
is that your car pic in your avatar? very nice. thumbup.gif

QUOTE(pergilahsayang @ Aug 9 2011, 08:44 PM)
What viscosity recommended for WIra 1.3 earoback eh? xw-30? 40? 50? My Wira has been using mineral oil for the last 11 years. The engine still ok since the engine dint consume or burn the engine oil. I thought wanna change to full synthetic after this.
*

xW40 normally.

QUOTE(phadly @ Aug 9 2011, 08:57 PM)
hello all..can i joined this club? have wira 1.5gli..
*

welcome, welcome.

QUOTE(wsmw @ Aug 10 2011, 01:19 AM)
I am driving a 2001 wira gli. i need some help from /k/.

1) when i use my remote to lock my car, sometimes the signal light on the right will be on and wont go out. it is only for the right side, both front and back.

2) during hot days, especially afternoon, when i change from 3rd or 4th gear to 2nd, my engine will just stall. this happens occasionally after parking my car under the sun.
is there any pro out there that can help me out?
*

here is not /k/ sweat.gif
1. wiring or relay problem, wireman can check
2. is it manual? when last time you change gearbox oil?

QUOTE(nelsonlye @ Aug 10 2011, 08:02 AM)
Comment problem for 4G9x & 4G1x Engine with TB running on ICV, whereby the gear always spoil. i changed few times, just the gear. Won't last you long. Change the whole TB, if you don't wanna use FICD.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Then will have clean engine bay. Without any hose flying here and there...hope this help

*

nice write up. now you running on 1 or 2 FICD?
from your TB pic, seem you taken the whole bottom part out. the connector that connect to the ISC is not needed anymore? will it trigger some sort of limp mode by the ECU? what about the auto choke?

yup, i think it was something like safe mode, where the ECU will set AFR to richer and limit the power to prevent engine damage.

my ISC also got problem ard, maybe will install FICD.

btw nelsonlye, your engine "aura" seems very strong wor. brows.gif
got dyno before?

QUOTE(SnoWFisH @ Aug 10 2011, 12:31 PM)
Just got myself a new car, however the oil used in the free service now is petronas synthium 800 (semi-syn). I wan to use s3000 for the new car, and i'll be bringing back the s800. I want to ask if my 17 year old wira 1.6 XLI can use this oil? The current oil im using is BP/Sharlu mineral 15w-50 oil. Is it safe to switch from mineral to semi without any side effects?
*
Depends if your Wira valve seal and piston ring is still on good condition or not. If good then no problem using semi or fully synthetic.

no lar, standard 1.6 also should be above 100.

QUOTE(SnoWFisH @ Aug 10 2011, 02:46 PM)
The only thing I remember doing to the engine is change engine head gasket and engine mounting  laugh.gif

So going from a 15w-50 mineral to 15w-40 semi, there's a chance that the oil might leak out?
*

there's a chance since already 27 years engine. Just monitor the oil level regularly lor.

the socket cannot take out to change with other socket?
maybe go to radiator workshop and see if the foreman know how to fix it.

QUOTE(wsmw @ Aug 10 2011, 11:38 PM)
my mistake. newbie here.

yes it is manual. i think the last time i changed the gear oil is when i changed my clutch at least 4 years back.
how often should the gear oil be changed? i only know auto have to change every 60Kkm.
*
no.. auto is to change every 20k km.
manual can stretch a bit longer, but also depends on the gear oil quality.
mine using Castrol but before 20k km already feel harsh in the gear change.

Not necessary need to change fuel pump and etc etc etc
With my mods, I am using back all OEM equipments like injectors and fuel pump smile.gif
*

true. such mods only needed if doing more extreme mods like rebore or BOT when only original injector unable to provide sufficient petrol quickly enough.

QUOTE(nicks @ Aug 12 2011, 10:53 PM)
your mod u mean? fuel regulator? magnet? bigger fuel rail? open-pod? bro, share here can u. i can say my mod also but no one will know what is 'my mod'  biggrin.gif  tongue.gif . therefore change 'my' to detail mod.  thumbup.gif

Valve springs no need to change as stock valve spring can take up to 8000rpm
Pistons are not MIVEC pistons

xxboxx: Compression should be 10:1 tongue.gif Dynojet and dyno dynamics on wheel, Dastek is on engine
*

maybe i read wrongly about the dyno then, i thought i saw dyno comparison at ZTH stated that dynojet is at crank.
and i think i read at 8th gen Civic forum mention that dastek and dynojet hp reading different by 1-2 hp only.

QUOTE(GKWong @ Aug 13 2011, 05:52 PM)
How much is the Dastek Unichip u invested?  hmm.gif

i think he mean dastek dynamometer, not unichip.

the dog bone does look like the one for Gen2.

higher compression more power, but also can lead to knocking if use Ron95.

ya... cannot masuk at all. I think that is the reason I saw ppl selling Wira 1.5 caliper as an upgrade for 1.3

What I heard is 1.3 & 1.5 caliper are the same.
You DIY or your mechanic the one trying to put the disc?
The piston inside the caliper need to use special tools to push it back inside.

I lazy DIY coz weather so hot nowadays, I went to garage let mechanic fix. The piston inside caliper already been compressed inside. The rotor itself cannot be fit into the brakepad holder there even without the caliper  doh.gif

maybe the disc too thick? can skimmed the disc?

err. can try to chanbge ur brek pump to perdana .. its powerful ..

btw , regarding for the e-manage .. any pridces do u know ?? around RM??
*
new + install + tuning & dyno = 1.3k - 1.5k
install + tuning & dyno = 400 - 500
so if buy 2nd hand make sure it's really cheap, coz install and tuning not cheap.
otherwise better just buy new coz got 1 year warranty.
also careful when buying as e-manage got fake one.

btw, what mods have you done to your car?
i read from your thread, seem you only want to increase top speed. not so sure piggyback can help you on that.

and dunno true or not e-manage cannot use on VDO ECU, like that maybe look for Works EMS-1 or Perfect Power SMT6/8 or Unichip Q.
