would like to ask, is DirectX 10 essential for Vista? Can Vista still run on DX9 version Graphic Cards?
I've seen some 'Vista Ready GPU' from nVidia's website, however, they juz support up to DX9c.

-Vista is coming on 30 Jan 2007-

Microsoft says a "capable" system must have at least:

* An 800 MHz or faster Intel-compatible processor.
* 512 MB of RAM.
* A graphics processor that is "DirectX 9 capable".


Anyone else got the complimentary copy of windows vista? I'm still hoping microsoft to send me the mail. unsure.gif

People have managed to activate the leaked version of RTM through some simple methods and make it appear to be a legitimate retail copy. But microsoft told the public that they will find a way to deactivate the leaked copy some time later. Using a non legitimate copy is always not as nice as using a legitimate copy.

any major differences between RC2 and the RTM version? I'm currently on RC1, trying to get hold of either RC2... not nice to use RTM since it's supposed to be retail...

[EDIT]Question: When installing does RC2 EULA show "RC2" or "RC1"??? I think I've been misled sad.gif

erm how much disk space is taken for a fresh vista ultimate installed?

i wonder it really uses up to 40gb, what i plan is allocating 20gb for vista partition like my current winxp which is 10gb for the windows n programs only, i usually store my data on other partition

pls advice, thanks
