Well cause i cant get to see the N53SN cos must order? It has a slower hdd compared to the one in in G53JW. And will g53 be bttr for autocad due to it cooling system, faster hdd, more ram, bttr GPU,bttr resolution?
*
Well, it seems abit unfair to compare the N53SN with the G53 laugh.gif
Anyway, the i7-2630QM is approx. 50% faster than the old i7-740QM iinm... so its up to you on whether you want more processing power, or more gaming power laugh.gif
Anyway, even though the G53 has a better cooling system, the better GPU will probably generate more heat than that of the GT550M? So the heat will still be high (during gaming)?

Usually rendering tasks depends more on CPU and RAM... sometimes GPU may also play a role if its optimized for it...
Sifus do correct me if I'm wrong haha, not very sure since I don't use them laugh.gif

Well, its still very new... benchmarks will probably be available after a few weeks?
Want to be the 1st one to try it out? hehe brows.gif
Dell's warranty confirm good, build quality of the Inspiron Rs are also above average... As long as the laptop is covered by warranty it'll be fine thumbup.gif

1. Brand = any
2. Budget = 2k or below
3. Specs = i5, 4GB RAM, dedicated GC
4. Size = 14" with minimum 1440x900 resolution
5. mainly for web surfing, Excel (hence the need of higher screen resolution), occasionally Photoshop, no 3D games, movies...

Most likely need to look for refurb Dell Latitude E6400/E6410...
Been observing Dell Latitude E6400/E6410 for quite some times, but I have doubts:
1. I used 2 Dell laptops before, including the 1 I'm using now, overheating problem is very serious in my opinion,
2. Where can I find those refurbished Dell?

Sorry but I forgot to mention on the earlier post:
6. I like to open a LOT of folders/applications at once, so is 4GB RAM enough?

cheerio~

Have you seen both laptops in real life? Perhaps you should do that as it will help you make your decision easier nod.gif
Anyway, my comment on these 2 are still the same... N53SN if you want more processing power (for work), G53 for more gaming power (for game)...
Work or Game is more important to you? brows.gif

nope, processing power still goes to g53.. it should be n53sn if ur tight on budget and g53 if u want a full fledged gaming machine.

the term "gaming" today is comprised of not only high powered gpu but also processors. my mom used to misinterpret the definition of "gaming".

Based on what I know... 3 of my friends have Dell laptops and it lasts till 2 years, when warranty ends even the hardware dies.
But 3 more friends lasts more than 3 years still working great!

I have some doubts about his though sleep.gif

I think empire177 is referring to the old G53 with i7-740QM, which is weaker than the i7-2630QM? laugh.gif
The new G53 isn't available in Malaysia yet...
