planning to get a laptop for work. IT related work ie: apps heavy, a bit of programming. plus of course a bit of gaming (sc2). not looking at any particular brands. specs wise i5, 4gb ram, 500gb hd, display 13-14 inch, pretty good graphics card. my budget between 3-3.5k. any recommendations?

Here are some of the options (13 inch):» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Do take note that there's really a limited choice of 13 inchers with the new SB processors... Still you can consider the ones Underlined. They're not as good as 14 inchers, but they're decent.. For 14 inchers: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Again, underlined ones are worth considering...^^ This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Mar 23 2011, 03:11 PM |

The U36Jc (1.7kg)/U41Jf (2kg) offers good portability, performance and battery lives (both hold 8-cell batteries)... whereas the XPS 14 is more towards power and entertainment... You should try and test the Asus machines, they're less solid to save weight... This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Mar 23 2011, 03:28 PM |

Guys, i narrowed down to 2 laptops only ..
Dell Inspiron 15R Core i7SB RM2999 with 3 years warranty 2 USB 3.0 or Asus N53SV Core i5SB RM2799 with 2 years warranty No USB 3.0 Which is the best deal ?? Im not a very hardcore gamer ... May i know is the GT525M in Dell capable of running most recent games on medium setting ? This post has been edited by christcwl9: Mar 23 2011, 05:17 PM |
