QUOTE(irinachangf @ Apr 30 2011, 09:01 PM) Some competitors like to use the invoice to complain to the manufacturer.I am not saying you are one but I will play no part in it. I got a good deal and I am not going to get that outlet in trouble. If you are indeed a genuine buyer, go there and check yourself. This post has been edited by SunwayKid: Apr 30 2011, 10:31 PM |

I just bought the 50VT20K from Homedec too! The Panasonic booth there is actually by their dealer Hoe Huat Electrical. It comes with the full 3D package. I also paid for the Purchase-With-Purchase which includes an extra 3D glass and video camera for Skype. Decided not to buy the Netgear wifi dongle from them.
Oh also paid additional RM900 for extra 3 years warranty. |

If you are indeed a genuine buyer, go there and check yourself. woot.. got my 50vt20k below 6k at homedec.. happy happy happy.. targeted this unit since late last year.. from rm12k+ comes with 1x bdt-300 ( http://www.whathifi.com/Review/Panasonic-DMP-BDT300 ) 3x 3d bluray titles - coraline 3d / iceage 3d / avatar 3d ( rm300+ ? ) 2x 3d panny glasses 1x hdmi cable A couple of reviews for the vt20/vt25 http://www.avforums.com/review/Panasonic-V...sma-Review.html http://www.flatpanelshd.com/review.php?sub...l&id=1274347515 http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/panasonic-t...20100520694.htm ( they gave it reference level.. ) IMO, the vt20 design looks dated / ugly bezel.. but i guess its function over form.. However, the new vt30 looks impressive.. but it comes with a ridiculous price tag to boot. http://www.flatpanelshd.com/review.php?sub...l&id=1303892383 http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/panasonic-t...01104231092.htm |

I spent some time viewing the Panny X30 & U30 as well as the new Sammy D490, D550, D8000, D7000. These are my comments. The X30 has the TrueCinema mode as does the U30. I could not really discern any major black level differences compared to 2010 models but there might be some as this was in the showroom. The AR filters on both of these are almost non existent with the X30. Both of the sets did not have user level greyscale calibration controls The D490 was also close to the X30 but with 3D to boot. The D550 looked the same as X30. Both did not have any form of AR filter that is worth talking about. The both of them had user level 2 point greyscale controls but no CMS The D7000 and the D8000 looked extremely good. They both had 2 point and 10 point greyscale controls. They also had a complete 3D CMS. Will report more when I get to spend more time on the sets later this year. |

Have they announce the RRP for the VT30 and ST30 for Malaysia yet? I wonder what's taking them such a long time. It would be a very interesting topic for me.
I'm betting it will go very mainstream prices for the ST30. Too bad they may not be bringing in the mid-tier GT30. Does that mean they figure Malaysian demographic to be either very entry level or enthusiast/filthy rich but no/little volume in between. |

QUOTE(anfieldude @ May 2 2011, 12:51 PM) I read that, the only problem I hv are his black level measurements, they don't jive with what a lot of others and I have measured for the VT20 and the Kuro 9G... he did used the same measuring equipment as yours Klein K-10 . i am quite surprise he measured the pioneer LX5090 having higher black levels than the VT30 if i have read the review correctly . others measured the VT30 at 0.0038 ft/L which is far above the pioneer kuro9.but i am even more surprise to learnt that the gamma for THX is factory set at 1.9/2.0 and canot be reset . i thought the THX standard for gamma is always at 2.2. panny may have buckled under pressure to please the masses for brighter looking TVs |
