Yet another WTF for me. Now it's Mayhem? Norway's most notorious and one of the most influential black metal bands ever is coming here?

I really need to see confirmation for this. I'm finding it really hard to believe.

Hey how cone no one ever comment on new S.O.A.D album HYPNOTIZE ??

Bought mine last week.....prefer Mesmerize than Hypnotize excluding other releases.

Holy Crap! Inflames have new album out!? will get it asap !

i commented on this album in the Rock thread , yeah I prefer Mezmerize over Hypnotize too, i feel the songs in this album are more forgettable than the previous one.

by the way, In Flames new album 'Come Clarity' will be accoompanied with a DVD feturing them playing all the songs in the album in a rehearsal room (just like wat James Hetfield and Co. did with St.Anger), well i hope this album sees them back to their roots, but then again I became a fan when i heard 'Trigger' (and that album did not go down well with the old fans )

their website described them as hard rock
rolling stone mag described them as 'goth metal'
and hopeless records described them as punk rock with a bit of metal. 
yahoo says their punk and metal and pop
so, which one u think is right? 

Black metal group banned

KUALA LUMPUR: Norwegian black metal group Mayhem will not be allowed to perform in Malaysia because it promotes "unacceptable" values, Deputy Cultural, Arts and Heritage Minister Datuk Wong Kam Hoong said.

"I assure you that the ministry will do all it can to prevent this group from coming in," he said in Parliament yesterday.

He said he had seen the group's song lyrics and felt disgusted by them.

An advertisement had appeared in a local newspaper saying that the group would be performing at an entertainment joint in Kuala Lumpur on Feb 4.

Responding to concerns raised by Idris Haron (BN - Tangga Batu) while winding-up the Budget 2006 debate at committee stage, Wong said Mayhem's application had not reached Puspa, the agency in charge of allowing foreign groups to perform in Malaysia.

Idris said the group promoted Satanic worship and drug use, as could be seen from its motto "Bringing hell to your doorstep" and their song titles included Carnage, A Time to Die and Deathcrush.

He also said that a group called "Say No to Black Metal" would hold a demonstration if Mayhem was allowed to perform here.
