Burzum's a racist dog. He's Hitler of the metal scene, influental but severely twisted mentally.

I love Slayer and my Slayer t-shirt too. smile.gif

I dig grind. Not all of it but primarily Napalm Death and Terrorizer.

And good to see this thread revitalized. smile.gif

Early Carcass was grind, then morphed into goregrind with bands like Exhumed and Impaled are.

Krisiun is a hyperblasting lovin' brutal death metal band. They're similar to Hate Eternal.

Quite a number are going to the Kreator concert. It's just that they're announcing their participation in the Kreator thread instead of here. wink.gif

I'm going too. It's gonna be a killer concert. Metal!

carpathia : I think they're fake. Check out the lyrics and printings. Got so many spelling mistakes. And what's with the identical serial numbers? I bought Moonspell and Kamelot and although I have no complaints about quality, the price for fakes is outrageous

I never really got into Children Of Bodom's later stuff. I still think Follow The Reaper was the best. Hate Crew Deathroll was too happy and cheesy.

It's true. They are 'fake' so to speak in the sense these aren't the original pressings. They're from China(according to Auntie (or was it Thailand?)), hence the price and the really awful spelling.

Gotta love Keine Lust guys. Especially the video where the members wore fat suits and they even headbanged!

Oh my, Soulfly with YET another album filled with tribal drums, percussions featuring Brazilian tribes and whatnot and the now trademark of Max Cavalera of sounding like a complete dushbag.

I think i'll pass this and listen to Beneath the Remains instead. biggrin.gif

I'm on a thrash metal binge or rather, Slayer. Been listening to lots of Slayer especially after watching their Rock Am Ring performance where they completely destroyed the crowd.

All hail Dave Lombardo!

According to the flyer that they (Sony people i think) gave after the Kreator concert, it said that it will come out along with the new Chimaira and Soulfly. It even said they're going to release some old titles as well.

Which of course is just a bunch of horse poo. I've been waiting for the Chimaira for the past 2 months. sad.gif

Utter rubbish. Take the Kreator concert for example, it was controlled chaos so to speak. No one got hurt. Everyone had a great time(even though i did stand for 4 hours and my back wanted to kill me but it was well worth it smile.gif). But go to a disco or a club, you can see couples kissing, you can see girls in skimpy clothes, guys trying to grope girls, people smoking and drinking non stop with some even popping pills and/or doing drugs. And the music is just appalling. If it's techno or trance then ok, there's nothing really immoral but those that play R&B and pop? Take a look at the lyrics! Full of sexual innuendos and let's not get me started on the videos. Good examples would be Pussycat Dolls and Rihanna. The former are just singing strippers with a song called Don't Cha which i think really degrades women. While the latter is only like 17 and yet she's barely clothed.

I could go on and on and on but the fact that we metalers are easier to blame because we listen to slightly loud music. Sheesh.

the new Chimaira album is quite a fresh breath (xcept for Mark Hunter's vocals-always the same biggrin.gif ), since all the songs feature a guitar solo-  thumbup.gif , sumthing they never did previously i believe

Dude, i'm sooooooooo close to downloading it but i'm still holding on for the actual album. cool.gif

i'm looking for these original new cds:

pungent stench - club mondo bizzare (for members only)
anthrax - persistence of time

anybody know where to get/order this? been waiting for more than a year from auntie but still no luck... thx

The Anthrax i saw at Victoria Music in Sg Wang. But that was like quite a while back, just drop by and take a look. If you're lucky, then woo hoo! If not, um, get another cd! biggrin.gif

Old Arch Enemy trumps all over newer Arch Enemy simply because of Johan's thunderous vocals. The Angela era brought a more 'commercialized' sound, the guitars weren't as downtuned as the first 3 albums while the quality of songs lingers between above average and downright blehhh.

Trivium are an ok band IMO. Sure the double bass is pretty bloody fast for a non death metal band, the riffs are so so and the solos are too reminiscent of Arch Enemy. But it's the vocals that get my teeth gritting. The hardcore tone to it just ruins it while the 'clean' parts just doesn't pack enough punch.

Gosh i miss the old days of Soilwork, In Flames and Arch Enemy.

liked the 'The End', 'Dagger','Rich Man' and tat King Diamond track well hahaha, his vocals memang like that one, sum ppl can really hate tat type of vocals (tat reminds me i think 3 inches of blood the vocalist sings like tat) but i find it ok biggrin.gif

My faves are In the Fire, Constitution Down and Dawn of a Golden Age. The Road from Mikael of Opeth is sweet but way too short. The rest are sucky IMHO.

Hm, isn't today the day Rosenrot gets released? Haven;t been to any music store yet, anybody can confirm this?

On the official site it says 4 more days. On a side note, anyone know where I can get my hands on Reise Reise? Darn, Rammstein has really been ruling my playlist. thumbup.gif

Marcelo is Tarja's husband/manager. Yea read that on monday. Darn sad. Hope they find a new singer to replace Tarja soon.

Try Type O Negative and Moonspell, love their style.

Type O's stuff is pretty weird so for those looking for staightforward songs, i suggest try newer Moonspell. Both have vocalists with deep voices.
